This one is a low voltage unit, whereas SM has the regular / high voltage displays (so unfortunately this one won't work on a SM).

You can modify a harness to get it to work with a stern .

That's true, forgot about the adapter you can buy. Believe it's part # 036-5608-00 and basically any distributor should be able to get one.
