Well I hate to do it, but after 14 months I am ready to sell my original, first pin, the one that got me into this hobby. I have my eyes on a Grand Lizard and this is the only one in my collection I am willing to sell to work towards it. This is the same High Speed that was at Pin-a-go-go this year (the only one) and is battle tested and ready for action. I am asking $1050

- Game plays great and I have received many compliments to its overall performance and feel.
- Good looking playfield, some wear in the typical places (ball drops, return lanes, etc) but overall pretty decent for a HS. Mylar appears to be factory and there are some bubbles under it, over the larger inserts.
- Backglass is in great shape and no flaking.
- Plastics in good shape, appear to be missing a few palm trees and I think there is supposed to be a helicopter. Replaced the traffic light plastic assembly with a new one and installed LED's behind it to prevent future melting. Ramp has typical cracking (see photo for light leaking thru) but there is no impact to game play.
- Displays are in great working order, no issues
- Under playfield has custom LED pattern that brings out the true traffic light colors and brightens the insert colors. Backglass has frosted white LEDs installed.
- Boards are in good working order and have been recently worked on by a pro (sound issues and some minor light issues). Battery holder is off board.
- Flippers have been rebuilt (minus the coils and switches) and everything plays strong. There appears to be a capacitor (spark arrestor I think?) that has been disconnected from the right coil but I am not sure of its purpose or how it is affecting the game (right flipper appears to be fine).
- Siren lamp and motor for siren are in good working order
- Cabinet is structurally sound but bondo/paint is definitely needed (see pics). I touched up the right side of cabinet with paint pen and it made a big diff (as seen in pictures). As you can see in the pictures, there are bolt holes on front of cabinet and the door needs painting. However, the coin mechs are there. No cash box.
- I have a set of Cliffy's for the ball capture and for the outlanes, just need to be installed.

#6 9 years ago

damn thats a nice price and very tempting. Best of luck sir!

#7 9 years ago

Grr. I want. Just isnt the right moment for my wallet.

Btw, I put a real nice present (score) on that grand lizard for you to try and obtain.

#8 9 years ago

Yeah you have a habit of doing that Adam, lol. I still need to find an excuse to "accidently" reset my ES after you set GC on it.

Here are the pictures for the backglass that is included with this pinball:

I need Santa to make a personal delivery.
That would look great with my other 80s' Ritchie pins.

#12 9 years ago

Everyone should own one of these at some point, like a convertible.

#13 9 years ago

Yeah, was thinking I would get more action on this pin as it seems to be one that most people do own at some point. May have to try my luck on CL next week.

#14 9 years ago

Good luck man,
I noticed a HS on Portland CL was up and sold for $1300 in about an hour a few days ago.
His was about the same condition maybe a tiny bit nicer but I think your price is more than fair.
The seller also had a Firepower II and big game.
I really wanted the big game but someone beat me too it.
Bet it be a quick sale on CL is my long winded message.

#15 9 years ago

Ok, that is exactly the pep talk I needed to hear, thanks!

#16 9 years ago

Ugh! This games so tempting, thank God I don't have all of the funds needed lined up or my future rollergames would be in serious jeopardy! How has this not sold?!

#17 9 years ago

Steve, ya just have to buy this with my patented easy payment program. And when you are ready to get RG, simple sell HS and roll the money over. Thus getting the pleasure of owning two awesome System 11 pinballs!

#18 9 years ago

No! Stop! I should drain this thread while I still can! Someone buy this!!!!

#19 9 years ago

Steve I think Seth has a great idea!

#20 9 years ago

No pressure Steve but this is the best playing high speeds I've ever played

#22 9 years ago

"Steve, buy me...play me...its the right thing to do" said my High Speed...

#23 9 years ago

That would be in my collection if it were closer to Michigan!

#24 9 years ago

Trade it towards my HS2

#25 9 years ago

I wish I could, but out of cash. Need either straight trade or cash.

#26 9 years ago

Headed out tomorrow for the long weekend bump. Will list locally next week.

#27 9 years ago

Ok, its almost 2 weeks and I only have one PM to show for my lovely High Speed. Where is the System 11 love? Time for a price drop!

#28 9 years ago

HS is such an awesome game. I can't believe it isn't gone yet. I wish I had more room.

#29 9 years ago

If you can hold out until pagg it will sell in minutes.

#30 9 years ago

Yet another machine that should have sold with in hours still listed after two weeks. Things have really changed with the hobby over the past couple of years.

I would bet that if you had this same machine for sale 18 months ago for $1250 someone would have grabbed it in a few hours. What a difference a year makes.

Hopefully someone will grab it from you. I would not reduce the price unless you really need to get it sold. They keep saying US economy is getting better but pinball sales seem to be weak. Maybe too many new machines coming out - maybe interest is dropping off - or maybe people just don't have extra cash to spend. But one thing for sure - machines are not selling like they were a couple years ago.

I would love to buy it but - Broke from - Christmas, property taxes, quarterly income taxes, blown tranny on my Tahoe, daughter's $3,000 volleyball fee................

#32 9 years ago

Yeah, I am prolly gonna stand pat at this point but I do have my eye on another pin so really hoping to raise cash thru this sale.

I am wondering if High Speed is just too available sometimes and that hurts it's resale. I probably see one every few months come up for sale, so there is always one available.

Quoted from Daddy-o:

daughter's $3,000 volleyball fee

HA, yeah my daughter started going down that path as well and I was blown away by the costs for competitive volleyball, crazy money. She stuck with city league instead and I was glad to only spend the $75 lol.

#34 9 years ago

Honestly, I think it's just the wrong time to sell anything. Everyone is broke after the holidays, people are just now getting their credit card bills..... Have you tried Craigslist? The Bay Area listings have been a wasteland lately, might get some luck down here.

Lucky you! $3,000 - plus probably another 10k for my missed work and hotels.. etc

#36 9 years ago

Bump for a game I want, thumbs down for being on the other side of the country!

GLWS!
