When I get done with my Wh2o, I will not sell it. But if I did, I would ask more than 6k. Probably around 7.5k...and even selling it at that price I wouldn't feel happy about selling it!

My cabinet, playfield, and ramps alone are worth, $2800 by themselves...

#52 11 years ago

I just bought mine a couple days ago, paid 3300, felt that it was a hell of a deal.

Quoted from pinlawyer:

OK, newbs:
Take an average routed WH2O for $2500 and start pricing parts. Now, tell me where you are. Do your homework before spouting off.

The problem with your theory is that you don't get the parts value back whem you do a restore like this. A person might have a 2500 base and 2000 in parts but that does not mean they will get 4500 back out.

Quoted from shlockdoc:

Ok it is a for sale thread and I am sure your well thought comments can be reserved for another thread?

Quoted from shlockdoc:

Yet that same person ripped me for making what I feel is a fair offer for a hulk pin? Double standard?

Did you get your $6K Hulk LE yet? I'm sure you did from someone since it was such a fair offer.

Yet go ahead and pump up your buddy asking $5.5K for his Funhouse. I am sure if I offered him $4K you would be right there to chime in. You are the king of double standard BS. I hope you go away soon.

#55 11 years ago
Quoted from shlockdoc:

You inferred that "feh,6k , I paid 2500 for somehting just as nice." Otherwise you would have said I paid 2500 for a beater. So yes there is inference and either way somewhat uncool in a for sale thread.

No, I did not. Read the quote in my original post. It said 'where are all the 2500 WH2o games at? It did not say CQ 2500 games, simply 2500 WH20s. I just mentioned that I found one, at that price, and in the middle of the price explosion. They are out there!

ANOTHER INNOCENT FOR SALE THREAD BOMBARDED BY KNOW IT ALL'S WHO REALLY KNOW NOTHING! SOME OF YOU PLEASE GO BACK TO RGP!

It amazes me that someone trying to sell a gorgeous all-time classic Wms built machine for $6k gets slammed here.

BUT if you try to sell a new Stern for $6k, or even $10k, you'll get nothing but praise and wishes they were closer, etc etc. And the Stern is lower in quality in almost every category, worse build, worse art, unoriginal design, etc. The main difference is that the buyer paid more for the Stern.

It will take a few years but, when the door is shut on DMD machine production forever, I think you'll see the price gap between something like WH20 and these latest Stern DMD machines close dramatically.

#58 11 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

I thought the same thing. That coin door is fugly.

I'm sure the seller really appreciates this senseless comment in his for sale post... but it doesn't surprise me coming from you and a few of the other 'post invaders' here. Same guys different post.. SHAME!

Its the same guys doing it over and over. Just take note, that's all you can do! Real shame and no excuse for it...

Bought a WH20 for 4250 2 weeks ago. Happy with purchase. In good shape but nothing like the one being sold. Why all this anger? I am happy that pins maintain their value, or even go up. Can u say the same about the car u drive? Although u may put more mileage on your favortie pin than your car. Pins are part of Americana like a 57 Chevy or Andy Warhol or American Gothic in my eyes. And they are fun. So let us all be happy that something we like has more recognition and prices go up. And yes, if u are willing to pay, like I did, 7500 for a Hobbit pin u have not seen, a WH20 in this condition may be worht 6 k. All imho.

I passed on a very nice one for $1900 2 years ago, for what its worth. If this title has really tripled in that time, then I'm quickly getting priced out of the hobby. Sad times for those of us on a budget. I'm pretty sure this bubble will burst though, because that is what happens to bubbles created by such rapidly increasing prices on so many titles. POP!

It was just an opinion. One that I stand by. Nobody who is interested in this pin will not buy it because of the coin door as that can be changed pretty easily and cheaply.

You are right though, I can see how it could come across as thread crapping. My bad.

GLWS

If it fetches the asking price then it was obviously worth it to someone.

When done I just want to see pics. Restores are like pin porn to me cannot look away.

I got a 2500 white water last summer outside of Milwaukee. Needed work, played perfect. I just put a new PF and ramps in it. That does not make it a $6000 machine now though.

Having only met (and bought from) Pinlawyer once, I feel confident in saying that he is not trying to "inflate" the value of his WH20. In fact, I'd say doesn't need to as people are ready and willing to pay some money for his stuff because it is damn nice!

Y'all are funny. This pin is expensive these days. $2500 is a pipe dream and many of us would be happy to score a WH20 in most any condition at that price. $4000 seems right for an average today. Even saying that one was purchased in May of last year for $2500 no longer holds water as the prices have been, and continue to rise. Pricing almost a year ago was LOWER. So I say that Jeff's machine that was pimped out and taken good care of is able to ask a premium price, whether he gets exactly $6k or something close.

Good luck with the sale Jeff!!!
