Looks really nice so far. Great job.

+1 on striping out the coin door too. I'd change out the chrome T-molding as well. You could make it black top and bottom with yellow down the sides, but I'd probably go straight black all around If it were me.

Good luck moving forward.

I really like it but do not think it goes well with the rest of the art package.

Very creative, but the art on the game just doesn't make this work well. Still looks to be very well done.

#9 10 years ago

Is that a pro model . It looks sweet.

Too late.

Horrendous. Stern did the color powdercoat right from the getgo - Decepticon Violet on the left, Autobot Crimson on the right. This looks like police tape....doesn't read as "Bumblebee" at all. All that yellow does NOT match the game's art package.

Someone had to say it.

OMG that's ghastly.

Its gone from a $5000 pin to a $3000 pin.

499 originals now. the value of mine just went up a tad.

#13 10 years ago

It would match mine

I think a custom translate would bring it all together.

Custom cab and trans would be needed imo. The yellow just doesn't mess with anything

#16 10 years ago

I am normally a huge fan of your work GAP, y'all do great stuff. I have to agree with Rarehero here though. I don't think this experiment panned out fully due to the art package having so little yellow in it.

Maybe a gray/silver Megatron edition or a Blue/Red Optimus Prime edition could work?

Agree! Start over.

#19 10 years ago

Some type of a yellow bubble bee topper would help.... big.. lots of yellow. That could really make this work.

It's a pro. A very ugly pro.

#21 10 years ago

I just showed my wife the pictures and said "hey, check this out, I'm gonna do it to my Transformers!"

Her reaction ....

"Oh my god you're not are you? That looks awful! The purple and red are the best thing about that machine! You're not gonna put that yellow on there are you? Really? That looks awful!"

Haha! Classic.

In saying that, if you made custom Bumblebee decals and custom backglass for it, maybe it's a winner!

#22 10 years ago

Working on the custom bumble bee back glass. Going to put pinball Life's Blue circle Led speaker lights in the speaker cuts outs which will represent Bumble Bee's blue Eyes. Also going with Yellow T -molding.

I actually think it ties in nicely with the right side of the cabinet which has bumble bee on it and ties in with the whole transformer theme. I like the conttast between the blue dark cabinet and the Yellow Armor. The left side has Decepticon , nothing i can do about that, now can I. I agree there are things that I need to do to it to pull it all together and I'm on it. Bumble Bee translite, cool topper, Bumble Bee action figure, Yellow T- molding.

Well, have fun with that. More yellow = more terrible. You're going to end up with a really expensive & ugly TF Pro...when someone in the market for a TF could find an LE for less than what this Pro's gonna have to sell for.

Point made RH. Lighten up bro. No need to keep bashing his project.

Agreed. Cool powder coating, but i dont feel it fits the theme of the game and art package

Oh, you didnt know? If its not a color choice of rarehero it is instantly incorrect

#27 10 years ago

Wow! With all due respect on the attempt, that just doesn't work for me.

The yellows just don't go with all the purple and red and blue of the pin.

The only way this works (maybe) is with a new translite showcasing Bumblebee, new cabinet artwork, etc.

I don't think I'll be adding any reds or purples to my car to match.

Really? You're on my side on this one

#29 10 years ago

If you want to pull this off, your going to have to customize cabinet decals for it as well. Get rid of the dark tones and blues. Can't really do warm colors like this with so many cool toned colors. Horrible clashing going on. With custom decal job done right, it could look awesome.

#30 10 years ago

For the record, I think the paint job he's doing looks awesome. But I agree that it clashes with the PF colors. That said, He hasn't finished it yet. Everything GAP does is top notch. I'm sure when he's done it's going to look very nice. It may still clash with the PF colors, but the work he'll do will be super nice.

#31 10 years ago

Just to let everyone know I hated Garanamils.

#32 10 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

In that I don't think it matches the pin, but I won't go as far as being insulting about it I still think the trim itself looks good and a really nice job, just not on this pin

#33 10 years ago

You could always repurpose them when Stern comes out with a Camaro pin next, part of their automobile trifecta!

#34 10 years ago

Car1.jpgCar1.jpg

Nice pics of your cars. Thought I'd share my Bumblebee as well.

#35 10 years ago

Don't spend anymore money on this pin................Bubble Bee is just a bad idea and will not add any value.........Just put black legs on it and call it a day.

#36 10 years ago

How did you do the lock down bar with stripes - was this powder coated or painted to get the stripes?

#37 10 years ago

Not liking the yellow. Even with a custom trans, I don't think the yellow will work.

#38 10 years ago

This is a neat idea, but the colors clash too hard for my liking. Someone out there will probably enjoy it, though.

#39 10 years ago

I'm sure somebody out there will buy it.

#40 10 years ago
Quoted from GAP:

Also going with Yellow T -molding.

That's what it needs....the yellow is no where on the backbox so it clashes

#41 10 years ago

Yellow trim will not help, The art work colors are just to different from a design stand point.

#42 10 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

All that yellow does NOT match the game's art package.

It matches the factory instruction/price cards

I think the coin door needs to match the lockdown bar with the yellow and racing strip. Why hold back at this point.

Continuing on with the project, still not finished.

Added Led lights to the speaker panel, black and yellow flipper bats, put in the Autobot translight from the Le which has Bumblee in the middle signed by Gomez. Waiting on Yellow T-molding, Bumble Bee action figure for playfield, mirror blades, shaker, sub woofer. I may do the coin door in yellow with black strips. Got to convince Matt to do it.

Just a side not, i don't want the armor to match the cabinet. I was looking for a bold contrast between the dark cabinet and the Yellow armor. I do respect people opinions.

thanks for looking

I powder coated it all in yellow then on the lockdown bar I taped it out and painted it black and then auto cleared over it. For the speaker panel it was all paint of coarse.

#45 10 years ago

Ohhhh your not seriously gonna have me strip down that door are u? Pick an easy thing for me to paint for you for once

No prob lmk if u want it and I'll make it happen,
Diggin those speaker lights.

Matt, I know you're NOT looking forward to doing that door. I don't blame you. It's a major pain. It's gonna be a bitch to stripe but it will pull everything together. t's not an option. It has to be done.

Good luck Matt, you have my sympathies on this one.

#47 10 years ago

I like the blue ring speaker leds. Looks like bumblebee eyes.

#48 10 years ago

Cool idea I love my transformers le combo.

I think it looks very good with the led speaker lights , but you should consider painting the coin door ......and don't listen to the negative comments , it's your machine , you paid for it so you could do anything you want with it .....
