***SOLD***

[Edit: price drop from $300 to $225]

For sale:

Stern Blue DMD with colored Blue film & black film frame.

This was installed on my Tron Pro when I purchased it; the previous owner (first owner) had purchased it & installed it. (I didn't take any pics of the DMD installed in my machine--the 2 pics of it in action are from the previous owner.)

I bought a ColorDMD for my Tron, & I think my AVLE will be just too blue if I swap its red DMD out for this blue one, so now this one is obsolete for me.

It hasn't gotten much use under my stewardship, & it looks nearly new overall. HUO for me & the previous owner.

The front has a sticker partially covering the silkscreened P/N: 520-5052-55 Rev A. The back has P/N 520-5052-15 Rev C silkscreened on it.
My Tron has 2 big PCBs in the backbox; as I understand, this is the low voltage version of the DMD & you can't use this DMD in a modern Stern that has 3 PCBs in it (the 3rd PCB being the high voltage board). One of the attached pics is my Tron backbox (with a color DMD peeking out from behind the speaker grill), for your reference.

Purchase information is a little hard to come by, but, from what I've found, these cost $399 + shipping new.

Asking $225 + shipping from 91103, Los Angeles, USA.

Thanks,
-Jason

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that just the red LED display with a blue filter?

Doesn't work like that....

Actually this is a BLue LED display that works with sterns. It's low voltage LED (5v) as compared to a traditional DMD which is served by high voltage. Therefore this will work in modern sterns.

To OP: your color DMD is actually low voltage, same as this Blue one. I believe (if I'm not mistaken) you can put the LED version in older games provided you had a connection to run off the low voltage on the driver board, instead of the HV DMD board. For example my Williams IJ used a DMD, but I was able to connect a Color DMD to it is it uses a low voltage source connection off the driver board.

As far as price point is concerned something to think about is how much a new Color DMD runs (which can be moved from game to game and colors changed) and the fact Xpin sells a Blue LED DMD as well. After looking at those numbers I think that will help you decide what a good asking price may be.
