Shopped out and very clean. Has a couple bumps on the cabinet. Playfield is very nice with only some very very minor edge wear on a couple inserts. Not bad enough to be picked up with my camera. Apron had some wear so previous owner installed apron decals. They look OK. Has Cliffy's on the Neutral Zone and Shooter lane. No hacks, and no errors DMD bright and clear. Original manual inside the machine, lots of LEDs and plays great.

Great price Eric- GLWS!

#4 9 years ago

That's a really good price for a really great game IMO. The seller has a very good reputation here as well. Someone do yourself a favor and buy this!

"STTNG is a $860 game" bump

#8 9 years ago

Holy smokes, great job Eric! STTNG is a super fun game. This is an absolute steal! and won't last the day. Someone is getting a MAJOR deal on this. I'd wish you luck, but you don't need it on this one.

BTW, Eric is an awesome person, Pinsider and restorer. Buy with confidence here peeps! .

Yes will ship as long as shipper ships with Legs on. I will blanket it, shrink wrap it and strap it as well.

You're mistaken, it's NOT backwards. It's just that Eric was beating the game so badly, it turned around and wants outta there!

No its backwards! Eric is not that good of a player lmao.

It seems like the STTNG pin has been coming up for sale a lot lately. Also noticing the price has been dropping. Anyone have any insight as to why the market seems to changing on this pin?

Its been stuck at $3800 in MN for the past year or so. Maybe the rest of the US is catching up with our rock solid price on this pin.

Cruel G...cruel.

STTNG is an awesome pin. That's the reason it sits at #12 on the "Top 100" list.

That said, let it fall. Dannunz wants to trade me his minty one with color DMD for my South Park and $500. I'm holding out right now for more cash.

BUMP!

eh, it goes up and down -- a handful of threads don't really mean there's a trend. last year I remember someone arguing that it was a $2500 game, but prior to that I couldn't find one for under $4000. it fluctuates.

as for the Klingon Bird of Prey -- it actually is supposed to be facing that way, as if it is facing off against the Romulan ship. During the Romulan Neutral Zone mode, you can summon Klingon Birds of Prey to help you. It also appears facing that direction on Williams' flyers for the game.

It should be a $5K game IMO. It's got a lot going on in there and is much better than many games almost twice it's price.

A game you can play for hours while it drives you crazy...LOVE that!

Nice find Pez.

can't argue with that. this game never stops being challenging. the risk vs. reward of trying to complete missions (vs playing it safe) in order to multiply your reward during Final Frontier is a design that brings strategy to every session even once you've mastered the table.

it's also the most fun game to mod, what with ColorDMD and all the Hallmark custom ships and other mods available for this pin.

#20 9 years ago

There are some very nice mods for STTNG. The color DMD looks absolutely AWESOME! Dunnunz has it on his and it's just gorgeous. I think it's the best color game DMD out there. At least till TOTAN gets released, that is if it hasn't already.

No matter how you slice it, this is a very nice looking example. For the price, it's a sweet deal that the buyer won't soon regret. Wish it were me. Eric does really great work.

#22 9 years ago

Cool! I missed it. Any video up on it? It must looks gorgeous on that pin. TOTAN is simply beautiful eye candy.

Edit...Here it is and yes, it's gorgeous!

LOL! You're nuts! You've got to see my wife's move. She uses a baseball bat. You've seen her, she's pretty athletic. She'll knock me to tomorrow Rock.

I don't think you can find a better game than STTNG under $4k.

Agreed. Especially not a top tier game.

I think it's crazy to trade a STTNG for a South Park. STTNG = $4k, South Park = $2k, maybe $2500. My wife loves South Park, I don't get it, but she still agrees STTNG is so much better.

We love our STTNG...don't plan on ever selling it.

Yes....price drop on STTNG is all because many owners cashed in their STTNG for the new Stern Star Trek, or added the new one and realized having both is pointless.
Not saying I agree, but it has been the case.

STTNG far better IMO, but also far more maintenance, and that has affected it's value as well.

Agreed. I was thinking the trade would involve money coming my way. There are a few people interested in the game. I'm open to shipping. I have someone coming to look at it Thursday. I think first come first serve is the most fair way to handle this.

I agree, but to each his own.

That said, I've turned down several offers from Dannunz. He wants to trade me his minty STTNG and $500 cash for my SP. Cartman says $1,000 cash or NO DEAL!

#38 9 years ago
Quoted from Pinfidel:

Just because one individual wants to make an unwise deal (from a pure valuations perspective) doesn't mean that's the new going rate for the game. He could easily sell that STTNG outright and then buy a SP keeping his extra cash and also the $500. That's just a dumb move from a $$$ standpoint. That's like someone saying that they'll trade their minty MB for someone's STTNG and so that must mean that MBs are now worth 4k??

That is a crazy trade. I would think you would need $2000 along with the SP for the STTNG even if it was fresh out of the box new. Wow, never knew of someone who liked SP that much to do that kind of trade!!

I bought the CoinTaker LED kit for the STTNG. Their "pre-made" kit is right-on target (no pun intended) for the right colors and types of LEDs to use on the STTNG. IMHO STTNG is one of those machines that just begs for LEDs.

Parenthetically, it's also one of the poorest in design and use of the GI circuit and overloading it as well. I've seen more burned GI traces, pins and connectors on the STTNG then any other machine.

#41 9 years ago

LMAO...That is just a running joke between Dannunz and I. Thought everyone would pick up on that. LOL

Interesting. When you change out all the GI bulbs to LED's, does the cool burning LED bulbs prevent that from happening?

#42 9 years ago

LED GI draws much less current than incandescent GI, therefore no more burnt GI connectors!

#43 9 years ago
Quoted from ToucanF16:

Cool. I know they burn much cooler and need less power to run. I just didn't know if that was the sole cause for that problem or if other contributing factors involved.

Thanks.

Just for the record Pinfidle forgot he stashed 4k worth of diamonds years ago in his SP and forgot because he is going cenile. Only reason I'm making this deal.

LMAO!!! You've seen my wife. When it comes to money, diamonds and jewelry that girl is a blood hound! If they're lost, she'll find them.

That's why she does all the bills and finances. She keeps things down to the penny! I can't buy a candy bar without her knowing. She was pissed that I spent $25 bucks going out for BBQ with you. She's tough when it comes to $$$. Thus the pinball purchase "Disagreements". LOL

#46 9 years ago

Bumping a great game from a great seller!

#47 9 years ago

Pin looks really nice GLWTS.

Regarding comment about which direction the bird of prey should be facing, I agree with Pez's answer and wanted to throw the Enterprise into the mix. Am attaching pic of my bird-of-prey install. Well, it was actually two birds-of-prey and the Enterprise! but whose counting? Coathangers were cut, bent and glued to support the ships and lighting wires, while filament was judiciously applied to secure them.

So to recap

(1) Romulan ship approaching
(1) Enterprise fleeing towards you
(2) Birds-of-prey racing to away towards the Romulan ship to defend the Enterprise
