I bought an Austin Powers from a consignment shop in San Diego. They told me it came to them from an estate, and that it was owned by a rich tv producer (if you're curious who, pm me) in his home. It seems to be an uncommon prototype... the only info I can find online about prototype Austin Powers is here on pinside:

It's in excellent condition. Cabinet pictures were taken in the shop I purchased it from... playfield pics are after I cleaned/waxed it. This game is very clean inside and out, and it works 100% and plays very nice. Cabinet 9.5/10 very light fade on one or two of the flowers and light flipper button wear, playfield 9.8/10 small touchup with a piece of mylar on top at eject kickout, translite 10/10. Asking for.... 100 billion dollars.

Just kidding, $2600. I'd also enjoy trading for a different machine. Shipping possible, local preferred. The machine is in Orange County. Thank you! Billy (sold 2300)

Nice AP. I remember seeing on CL for $3200. Did you talk him down on the price?

As I mentioned in that thread last month. Fat Bastard being in the nude would reduce the value of the machine in my eyes.

Obviously I'm kidding, good luck with the sale!!!

Yes, I talked him down. All the feature (insert) lamps were out! Just had to change a fuse. Also needed shopping out and touching up at the scoop kickout.

Should sell, the one referenced in your link went for 3500 in Jersey

This wound up falling to $2500 before getting pulled if we are bringing up the original craigslist ad...

Yes, I talked him down.

So how far below $2500 did he go? I mean...er...good luck with the sale!

I got it for a pretty good deal.(edit, got it for 1950) It wasn't even advertised as a prototype, I don't think anyone knew.

Those cabinet pics are from the cl ad.

Crazy! i had no idea that a game that fetches $2000 or so normally would go up a thousand dollars just for being some sort of prototype. Do you have documentation or something to prove that or are you just guessing based on some different figures?

When I saw this sitting with no buyer on Craigslist for such a long time, it appeared to be worn to the wood in one spot. Must have just been the way it was shot, but that turned me off to even go make him a realistic offer. Maybe that is what you are implying when you say this?

playfield 9.8/10 small touchup with a piece of mylar on top at eject kickout,

*edit - I see now that your asking price dropped from $3000, to $2900 and now to $2600, so you aren't asking $3k anymore. My mistake. Now get her sold!
