Shame,…shame,..shame on you.

When you put something up for sale with a set price, there is a reasonable expectation that you will sell it at that price. At this point you should be discussing how to get it securely and safely to Lma.

You made two mistakes.

Firstly, you put something up for sale which you didn’t know the value of. That would be okay if you were not concerned with what it was potentially worth and were simply content getting what you asked for. Obviously that’s not the case here. That doesn’t make you a bad person, just not very smart.

Your second mistake was not accepting your set price. Someone, Lma in this case, offered you your asking price. Then based on the level of interest you greedily decided that you wanted more. This is what makes you ethically a weak person, one who lacks moral character.

The dictionary tells us;

Integrity – the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Honor – fulfill (an obligation) or keep (an agreement)

Men have strong moral principles, weasels do not.

The smart person would have an idea of what it was worth, find out what it was worth, or not care.
The upright person would accept their asking price and be pleased with it.
To summarize you are not too bright and you lack honor and integrity.
On a positive note, from your starting point you have plenty of room to improve your moral character.

Hmmms. This just in,.. perhaps we have to see what the dictionary says about honesty as well.

Kudos;

Integrity still has a pulse.
It is hard to do the right thing.
Often the wrong thing is rewarded.
Life is a test, life does pass judgment.
It’s the little things which add up to define us.

As you say everyone has come across situations where the seller gets a better offer and wants to jack up their set price. It is not right for them to do so. It speaks to what kind of person they are. People don’t have to abide by a hand shake deal. However, It defines who they are if they do or do not. I believe ultimately it shapes the type of lives they live.

None of us are perfect; but as long as we strive to do the honorable thing, in the end our balance will be more positive than negative. When you do the right thing it reflects brightly upon your character.

Again, Kudos to you.
