Those are pretty good deals on the LOTR and TSPP if there is no battery acid damage.

#3 10 years ago

Of course I love offers.

Were double A's still being used then or are they button batteries? If button batteries, do those even leak? I don't know.

#5 10 years ago

I recently picked up a 2003 LOTR with the original batteries still intact. One advantage of the cheap alkaline batteries that Stern installed, is they rarely leak. Mine were no exception. Had they used Duracell, I suspect there would have been some damage to the board.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of these pins if I were in the market, especially LOTR & TSPP.

Generally no, but I did recently repair a Bally board with a leaked button.

Oops. Meant to quote you, Vid, and say thanks for the info!

Any idea where they were stored? Climate controlled?

#10 10 years ago

Midwest, Full dry climate controlled building.

#11 10 years ago

Nice find.

7k for a LOTR is a good deal??? Hmm I guess if you say so.

For NIB it is a good price. Several sold for that in the last two years. There probably are not more than a handful in existence NIB.
How much do you think a NIB SM would sell for these days if one were available? Probably $7500 to $8500.
Tron was selling for $4700 NIB 12 months ago and now they are around $6000 if you can find one available.

NIB is NIB. I wouldn't pay extra for it, get a HUO instead for a couple grand less. But if you're a certain kind of collector it makes sense.

Exactly. The only people that buy old price hiked NIB are people that want a nice example in a collection. Obviously this kind of purchase is not for an operator such as smassa.

....what he MENT to say was GLWS.

#19 10 years ago

Cool great opportunity for some classic NIB sterns. Its like getting a case of crystal pepsi today! JK, that would be terrible. GLWTS!

Nice prices especially for someone who has always wanted a NIB machine

#22 10 years ago

I had a couple people ask if I can guarantee they will be in good shape once the box is opened? These are still sealed , Boxes are undamaged, were and are still stored in a climate controlled building.

But I cannot guarantee the games condition, that seems pretty unreasonable.

I agree, but at the same time... When you consider what WOZ, Star Trek, etc. sell for new these days it doesn't seem so crazy.

I agree, it's all relative.

Then again, it's this kind of thinking that makes prices go up for all pins across the board.

So....whats batman standard? I see it has its own ratings page. Whats missing from the game? Is it like the IM Classic?

Can't argue with you there. That's one reason why I haven't bought anything in over 2 years. Speaking with my wallet, not that it will make a difference.

I am thinking this is referring to this version of BDK:

Thanks! According to the game tag by the OP, it appears this is the TDK that is nib for sale? Can you confirm bene?

I'm guessing it's the original version. The OP isn't the one that tagged it.

#31 10 years ago

I think the op hit the nail on the head with pricing for all, considering there are probably about a handful left of some of these still nib. Some of the prices are tempting. Opening new in the box is a great feeling. It's not every day you can open a brand new from the factory LOTR or TSPP, and those two games are as solid as anything out currently imho...

Glws!

#32 10 years ago

If that is the Costco Batman, the price is batshit crazy.

The OP never typed "batman standard" in his post. It just says Batman. Someone else tagged batman standard. I'm guessing it's The Dark Knight version

#34 10 years ago

THIS IS THE FULL VERSION Batman, not the cost cutting version.

ALL GAMES ARE FOB Omaha, NE 68106

LOTR Sold at asking price

WOF's Sold at asking price.

All other games still available, And all lower offers are noted.

What about Lithium batteries ? I've used those in a couple cases, as I was under the impression that they were far less likely to leak. This was based on a lot of experience with various remote controls and other devices, where I've had to deal with discharge from batteries left in too long or without enough use. Cleaning that mess up is not pretty, but generally not catastrophic either. Then again, it's usually not happening on a critical circuit board. Anyway, I've **never ever** had any lithium AA or AAA cells (EverReady, Duracell, Ray-O-Vac) leak, and I've gone through many cartons of them per year. If I ever had any good reason to doubt this for a pin, I would certainly move to those remote battery holders.

Can the new owners report back on condition once received and opened if they are pinsiders please, that should help shift the remaining stock if all is well, as it should be.

Those WOFs were a good deal.
