I'm a proud owner of Met Pro Refinery Edition #005, and I totally love this machine and the modifications done by PinballRefinery !
I prefer by far my modified pro vs a premium !

Buy with confidence, you won't be disappointed

Why do you prefer the pro over the premium? I only ask cause I may be interested in one of these.

Just took one out of the box and decided to customized this Metallica Pro with upgrades that I prefer on this machine. This machine will be killer and for sale when I finish it.

I'll post pictures of this machine through the process.

If you would like it, just let me know.

I prefer the pro. The hammer is to big and blocks the view of the shot to sparky. The snake jaw can be problematic as well.

#6 7 years ago

I prefer the pro as well. These Refinery editions are just gorgeous!

#7 7 years ago

Can't go wrong with Refinery machines! I have a Premium, and while I love the hammer lock, I acknowledge that the Snake Jaw can be finnicky. However, the snake mouth has been finnicky on all the pro machines I've played as well, so I'm not sure that's a problem specific to the Premium design. Anyway, someone buy this machine, you won't be sorry!

#8 7 years ago

I just finished up with these 2 Metallica machines for customers (1 Refinery edition Metallica Pro and 1 Refinery edition Road Case Metallica Premium)...

Now I'll be working on this Pro up for grabs, so who wants it.....

It's never even been played and they are taken apart for upgrades. Still have to remove more items off the playfield, but here's a few pictures.

This Refinery Edition is going to be getting a purple powder coated metal apron.... Man these are very sweet looking over the black plastic apron.

What are the other "Refinery" upgrades your adding to the Pro?

QSS

I have a long list of them, some come standard upgrades on our Refinery Editions and some are optional upgrades, but cost more to add them.

This is what comes standard with the Pinball Refinery Metallica Pro machine.

Upgraded side rails on cabinet (Stern Lollipop style rails similar to LE)
Candy Purple 2 stage custom powder coat for the Hinges, Lockdown bar, Legs, side rails, and shooter rod housing.
Added Purple Powdered coated under playfield support rails and remove the pegs.
Metalized Chrome Flipper bats w/super bands (Several colors to choose from)
LED Lighted Flipper button (Several colors to choose from)
Chrome leg bolts
Full Color LED upgrade in GI and inserts (Stern uses white)
Full LED upgrade in Flashers (Stern uses white)
Custom Sparky lighting mod (Choose a color of EL wire that you want)
Shaker motor
Creeping Dead Pinblade artwork with UV LEDs lighting effects
Game Interactive LED Speaker lighting
Ride the Lightning w/color changers mod
Green LED Snake mod
Purple LED Mystery Hole Scoop

This machine that I am working on will get these standard upgrades but several optional ones as well. This will be a nicely LOADED Pro when I am finished with it.

Thanks,

Steve

Quoted from modfather:

Stop it, Rarehero has already pointed out 200 times that's impossible.

Anyway the Pro is the better way to go IMO. The add-ons to the Prem simply don't add up for the value in my book. Other than the hammer, which is a total shit show, the other things are "cool" but nothing worth the extra monies.

#14 7 years ago

Given the mods this seems like a great deal. If I did not have a met pro already, I would be getting one of these bad boys.

Quoted from TheLaw:

When it's working properly, and augmented by a shaker and mondo sound system, the hammer is one of the coolest toys in all of pinball. No ball lock sequence is more dramatic, not even the Shadow's wall trick. I'd say it rivals the color-changing GI for best Met Prem feature.

I also like the snake... so much nicer to see it physically open the jaw and "spit" the ball at you, rather than just an eject from a scoop.

I'm glad you enjoy it.

I'm making some good progress with this Pinball Refinery Edition of Metallica Pro. The powder coating armor is going on and I decided to powder coat the ramps and I really like how it turned out. ColorDMD installed, GI, inserts and flashers are changed out and other upgrades as well The custom painted Sparky will be finished this week.

More to come,

Steve

Those powder coated ramps look sick. I'd they hold up to ball abuse I would want

#19 7 years ago

Really like those ramps.

I LOVE my Refinery Edition MET! Steve's extra custom touches really set the game apart.

#21 7 years ago

I have been working more with this Metallica Pro. It's getting closer to the finish line.

Check out this enhanced Frankenstein Sparky my painter came up with, extra blood and stitches.... It's Bitchin.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad your enjoying your Refinery Edition of Metallica. These games are AWESOME.

#23 7 years ago

I'm 99% finished with this Refinery Metallica Pro.

Man this machine looks Amazing.

Here's some more pictures of the final product. Of coarse, I added the Creeping Death skinblades, playfield spinners for the loops, all of the lighting upgrades (speakers and under cabinet), including a few extras for the snake area.

I will make a video of this machine and post it.

That's beautiful, Steve. The light show really stands out in the video. Nice work!

Do you have stock of the powder coated ramps/ ball guides? I bet they would sell as a replacement set, so people could keep their stock stuff and pop those in, rather than have to send theirs out. Looks really nice.

Currently I do not stock these ramps, it there is big demand for them I would do it. Otherwise if you would like this done, ship me your ramps and I'll have them powder coated for you.

Thanks,

Steve

I am starting 2 more Refinery Edition of Metallica Pros. One is sold and the other one is available to be purchased.

I am planning on doing this one that is available with the powder coated purple ramp as well. I really liked how they turn out. So if you would like this Refinery Edition Metallica Pro, just send me a PM.
