One of the customers of the shop I sell my antiques and collectibles at has asked me for assistance in selling his pinball. I was expecting some "D list" EM title, but you could have heard a pin drop and my jaw hit the floor when he told me it is a HOME USE ONLY, ONE OWNER, MONSTER BASH, with less than 260 hours of play time. From day one, he has covered it with a sheet to prevent cabinet fade, and he said it has the Cliffy protectors. I got the feeling, to steal a line from the movie Ferris Buelller's Day Off, he rubs it down with a diaper...lol.
He is moving and would like to sell the game prior to his move.

Obviously this type type of quality comes at a priming, he is looking for $13999(orig asking price) NOW ASKING 11k. If interested, let me know and we can arrange you to check it out if you are interested. Game is located in Long Island NY.

Yeah, the timing might not be ideal, but I figured no harm in my trying to help him sell it. I thought there may be somebody who wants an original version in amazing shape, regardless if a remake is made or not.

Kidding aside, $14k is a tough ask in the current market. I suspect most looking for a primo MB are going to wait until Expo and see if that's the next remake from PPS (AFM and MB seem like the best candidates).

I would have been interested in this game between $10k-$12k last fall, but not now (I have an MB restoration in progress).

I imagine there is wiggle room in his price for any serious buyers wanting a top notch original version

I'm sorry, but the only people that will ever be able to tell the difference between the real deal or a refake are those that are seriously into the hobby. When a Mustang drives by, can the you tell if it has a V6 or V8 in it? Most likey not, unless your into 'Stangs. And yes, you can beat William MB everyday of the week with pricing like this. It's called supply and demand. With guys like this trying to gouge us with this ridiculous pricing, Rick will see that need and fill it with affordable MBr's.

Dude, stop with the air quotes. I never said he was a FRIEND. In my opening post I clearly stated he is a customer of the shop I sell some of my stuff at and he asked if I could help him sell it. It's HIS game, HIS asking price, and HIS decision what to do with his game and what profit margin he wishes to make with his game, My comment of saying that there is likely "wiggle room" was based on the conversation I had and the vibe I got from him about his price.

I get it, he wants a lot of money, but that's his peragative, and maybe he might get stuck with the game, or wind up dropping the price way down. But I am simply HELPING somebody sell their game....and I get attacked? I swear it is situations like this that sour so many people to the community and the boards.

A seller can ask whatever they want... regardless of profit margin, etc.... a buyer can either buy or pass. People who whine about asking prices are just plain annoying, if you ask me. Nobody cares if YOU think the asking price is to much...someone with "a pair" can make up there own minds!!! GEEEESH!!!

For the data hounds, I just sold a HUO MB in slightly worse shape (cab dings, few thousand plays). Had a lot of interest and a relatively quick final sale in the 9K range. I guesstimate this one is 10Kish due to the better cab, maybe a bit more if seller is patient. The ask isn't unreasonable but does leave plenty of room to come down.

RFM was the same way. I just re-decaled mine and removed the hasp brackets. It looks so much nicer.

Yep, I took the cliffy off mine and put a Mantis protector in. We beat on it for over a thousand plays and no damage to the scoop. The protector itself was starting to get beat and eventually would need replacing...

What is he selling a boat!? Who measures a pin by hours of play? At 250 hours and 3.5 to 5 minutes per game we're talking 3-4000 plays.

It's a beauty, that's for sure.

Low play, perfect condition HUO will catch a buyer, but seems market for higher end B/W titles have come down a bit. Besides, 14 grand starting price dropping to 11 grand isn't seeming like a deal anymore like it did up to a year ago.
