Since I couldnt come up with what I felt was a fair trade I am going to try to sell this pin. I am located in York PA. Here are some pictures of my LOTR. The legs, side rails, and lock down bar have been painted gold. I am asking $4500

http://s1114.photobucket.com/albums/k530/boostedskex/LOTR/

Ill try to give you a rundown of the mods on it:
Leds (CT-color matched) in the inserts - except clear inserts (they were too bright)
Leds (CT) in select GI- some green in shire areas and red/orange in mordor area
Cliffys protectors - wood looks good underneath them
Pinballlife high power flipper coils
Pinbits- Orthanc Rebound Jam Defender
Pinbits- wood rail protector
Pinbits- sword lock magnetic insulator
Pinbits- path of the dead deflector
Pinbits- plastics protectors
Pinbits- Army of the dead mounting kit
Army of the dead figures on top of the pinbits kit, each lit by a 5mm led
pinballlife- upgraded ring ramp post
2 ring wraiths added on top of the sword ramp with 2 red 5mm leds shining on them
Balrog LED
backbox led flasher kit (behind the eye of mordor)

I just replaced the flipper coil sleeves and coils, balls and rubbers approx. 6 months ago. IMG_0789.JPGIMG_0789.JPG

Of course when I decide to sell it you guys come out of the wood work with trade offers but still not the few I want. To the top for my LOTR!!

Nice LOTR, someone will(should) buy!

Would this be a good first pin? I recently caught the pinball bug, love the theme, but it may be too soon for me to lay out that much money with wife approval. Dang I want it.

It really depends on your skill level and what type of pin you consider to be your style. This pin is difficult to "beat" and has a very deep rule set. That might sound negative but for many, including me, it isn't. I think it would be an awesome first pin, you can't go very far uphill from LOTR!

#9 11 years ago

So long as you have the budget for the $$$, and since you love the theme, LOTR is a great first pin, imho. The multiballs and modes are very accessible for a novice, but completing them and beating the mini-wizard, and getting to the final wizard modes take expert skills.

This pin seems VERY reasonably priced for the mods and condition it looks to be in.

I agree. I paid just a little less for mine and it has no mods. And I am not trying to be a cheerleader for boosted, either!

Why not start with one of the best Pinball machines I have ever played. Call NAVL for shipping quote. @1-800-959-8880. That is a nice LOTR .

It was my first pin. Awesome first buy. Problem was it resulted in me getting 4 more after it... and maybe another one soon...

No pics of the flipper area or side rails?

Powdercoat or rattle can?

Your last FS/FT post said the paint was worn off & gnarly...

#19 11 years ago

It was spray painted not powder coated and yes it was starting to slightly wear through the gold paint at the flipper buttons so today I pulled the rails, legs and lockdown bar. Sanded, resprayed and cleared them. I will reinstall everything tomorrow! I never said anything about gnarly!
