I guess stripping material, sandblasting, cleaning . prepping, labor. electric bill for oven. would have to factor in. don't know iam not in the powder coat business. a buddy of mine does these.

I do, do it myself. That's why I am trying to wrap my head around the pricing. FYI: My company does powder coat everyday, so I know what goes into it. I wasn't asking do it for free I was asking why so high? Let's don't turn it into brain surgery.

actually i don't have any more old armor. so future sets will be 500.00 gift or friends/family (you pay fee) breakdown, new armor is a touch over 200.00 powder job is 260.00 (for candy colors.) shipping is 50.00 to 55.00 with insurance to buyer . will still do the refund deal on old armor. if i get/have old good armor i will adjust price accordingly. powder job includes. hinges, lockbar, lollipop siderails, legs, shooter housing, hinge bolts, leg bolts, 4 center siderail screws and front and rear of siderails

these fit original IM. my understanding the IMVE has clasp type lockbar. the original IM have the lever type. I only have the lever type. not new style clasp lock bar

Here is the correct lockdown bar receiver (or as Stern calls it "Front Molding Lockdown Asm")

Part 500-6881-00

I plan on swapping this onto my IMVE down the road when I get rails done.

14 dollars a lb is cheap shit powder and it takes 4 lbs to do a full game. 2lbs for base color and then clear. More like 25 bucks a lb which brings you to 100 just for the powder alone then you have chem strip, iron oxide, acetone bath, gas bill, powder tape, etc. And that's before you factor in labor .

This armor is awesome, and for the $ it's a no-brainer. How much are people paying Stern for Premium/LE armor? This is really nice too, just the right amount of metallic powder. Thanks biglaw - I now have an IMLE.

For anybody who's on the fence, the quality of work on these is great. I only had one problem - I cranked down too damned hard when tightening up a hinge, and broke a bolt. That was a pain in the ass, but totally my fault.
