This is a consignment sale for my customer, so I am not looking for any trades.

I am selling my customer's Star Trek LE #659 of 799 machines. I sold him this machine back in 2013, so he is the original owner of this machine. It has 73 plays on it since the last code update in 2018 and still looks and plays like new. It had 72 plays on it, and I put 1 game on it, just to test everything.

Beyond the upgrades that the LEs have from Stern and this machine does have Stern's anti-glare playfield glass, here is the list of the upgrades that I added to this machine.

1. Chrome shooter rod ball and housing.
2. Chrome leg bolts.
3. Interactive Red/Blue/Ambler under cabinet lighting effects.
4. Silver Flipper bats w/yellow super bands.
5. Clear Flipper buttons.
6. Pingraffix STLE Pinblades.
7. Pinball Refinery, my UV lighting effects for the Klingon multi-ball.
8. Pinball Refinery, my rear playfield and speaker sound controlled lighting effects.
9. Chrome bolts for the hinges

I can box the machine up and package it as Stern does, then secure it to a skid for the Freight company if shipping is necessary. I have a shipping broker that can quote me the rates with it fully insured.

PM me if you are interested in the machine,

Steve

Thanks everyone for asking about it,

Not surprised it went fast at that price and condition.

#6 2 years ago

An actual LE with LE stuff on it. Shoulda been 20k compared to the junk I see posted these days.

#7 2 years ago

Bummer. I would have bought it at 72 played games or less.
: )

It's the prettiest LE ever made. Just the game itself is kinda meh.

And THIS is why pins are so expensive.. should any pinball game be $20k? Absolutely insanity. Congrats seller. Beautiful game. Thank you for offering this up at this price.

...sold it out from under me. I responded immediately and have an email from him telling me "let me know". Then, I never even heard back on my follow up emails.

REALLY fucking uncool.

#12 2 years ago

I told him I would take it (full price), and he said he could get me quotes for shipping in the morning. I followed up not long after and said I could just have someone pick it up, and to let me know the payment forms he accepted. NOT EVEN A REPLY EMAIL.

Gribbs you're a good pinsider. Sorry to hear that. It's a doggy dog market right now.

#15 2 years ago

I’m sure there was more than one person on this given the price. First to commit funds always wins. I’ve missed several deals as of late being only seconds behind.

#16 2 years ago

Oh, I am SURE someone else offered more, but my original email made it clear 'I would take it', and he didn't indicate it was already taken. I even asked about shipping, but made it clear I had family out that way who could also pick it up. The cherry on the top was just not haver hearing back and coming here to see it was sold. This is my second dealing with Steve, and unfortunately, my second negative experience. I just want to let people know.

#17 2 years ago

Hot pin, good price.. someone got it. May or may not be asking price. Sorry you missed it.. but $10k pin and this upset?... 1st world problems. You'll find another another one.. promise.

That isn't true at all... Your first 2 PMs you asked for a shipping quote. And I responded to you and your question ..

Here is the 2 first PMs

How much total to have it shipped to Scottsdale?

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

I would have to get a hold of my shipping broker tomorrow to get an exact shipping quote. I do know that insurance for a machine like this price is like $275.00 for any issues that could happen in shipping. I would estmate shipping with insurance is $700 to $750 range with a freight company.

Pick up is fine as well as long as it is paid in full before they arrive or COD.

Please let me know,

Steve
MI Pinball Refinery

The next guy right behind your PM said he will take it since he was local and sent me a deposit until he can pick it up. I am as FAIR AS POSSIBLE when I sell machines, so don't say I sold it out from underneath you. You did not say you wanted it and or offered me a deposit for it in those first 2 PMs You responded 16 minutes later in your 3rd PM, saying you wanted it and would arrange shipping. In those 16 minutes it sold.

Yes you are right on this, I did not respond to your 3rd PM, because it was already spoken for. So I am wrong for not telling you it was sold to someone else.

what's crazy is that we couldn't give this pin away at 7500 in mid/late 2020. Now a price like this is the talk of the town - although understandably so with what else is going on. Guys listing NIB AFM LE for 30k. haha

Sorry it didn’t work out for the one pinsider above.

+1 Who really thinks these are worth more now? Not people that's been in this hobby for any period of time that's for sure. Bunch of newbie suckers paying over inflated prices.

#42 2 years ago

Hottest market in the history of pinball and you ask about shipping quotes? This is just creating more work for the seller and even then he was gracious enough to humour you.

Wake up to 2022. If you want the machine you respond with “ I will take it - what deposit amount do you prefer and how do you want to get paid. I will pick up thanks.”

With this you have only a chance. Better would be:

“ I will pay you xxxx over your asking - what deposit amount do you prefer and how do you want to get paid. I will pick up thanks.”

Then you would have had a better chance but still only a chance.

Then you trash the seller publicly on pinside because your pinball feelys got hurt. Not cool and you just lowered your odds of future buys with this seller to zero. And future sellers may read this thread and just skip you as well so this doesn’t act in your interest. Time to up your game - it’s not your grandpa’s pinball market.

Key point for buyers to remember... the seller is selling the machine and doesn’t owe you anything until money is on the table or in the account and the seller will sell to whomever makes the transaction the easiest.

I passed on a Premium in June 2021 for $6200. That's the last.one I ever saw below 7k.

Mixed blessing as using $ for a Godzilla Premium, much more my theme preference, and when I told my buddy he agreed to trade my IJ for a year.

I honestly think the pro is the best looking version. Jeweled colored inserts > RGB rainbows

You asked the SELLER to do the legwork of what it would cost for the honor of shipping it across
the country for you? That's hilarious.

Quoted from nicoy3k:

Same. I think it's kind of ugly when all inserts are clear. Some inserts don't need to be 100's of colors. I do like the popup ball return to the flippers from the mission start on premium. Made that shot a lot more predictable.

Yep, I remember them sitting for $7k for months and months

#49 2 years ago

By far the best Stern LE I've owned or played, puzzled by why it doesn't get the love it deserves.

Quoted from nicoy3k:

Based on the degree of dimpling, it looks like it has around 72 plays. STLE is my favorite LE of all Stern machines, it feels incredibly solid, and plays so well. A few mods and this game is ridiculously good.

#50 2 years ago

I can rattle off a bunch of stern le’s or other games that sold cheap until a year ago, what’s the point? Great seller, great game, fair price. I’m not surprised it went fast in this market.
