I think John's short description of the environment(basement) where the pinball machine is sitting is quite pertinent in painting the picture to the actual condition of the machine. He said the basement was filthy, full of crap, and clothes everywhere. What's wrong with that? It's an honest opinion.
No different than saying the basement was immaculate, with tiled floors, a home theater, and the pinball was in perfect shape.
