I am looking to sell my pristine Eight Ball Deluxe. The playfield is absolutely gorgeous, and the cabinet appears to have nearly no fade at all. The previous owners brought this machine back to as close to HUO as you can just about get. All the boards look great and thoroughly clean, and the game plays like a champ. More detailed pictures upon request.

I paid $2600, so I think that's a fair price to sell it as well.

Thank you for looking!

Seems like a fair price if it's as nice as you say it is. Have pics? I have to be honest, got mine for free about 8 years ago and put about 150.00 into it and looks and plays excellent. GLWS

they go for double that here now.

just to clear up the confusion from the brochure.. its a deluxe ( standard bally cab) not a deluxe LE ( rapidfire cab) right?

PM sent.

Well... that's what I get for posting at the wee hours of the evening. Here's a couple pictures of this lovely machine.

Gorgeous! 8 Ball Deluxe was my alltime favorite before I discovered the joys of DMD. I would love to have a nice example of the game but I think the days I could pay DMD sums for early SS games are over. I'm sure some collector though will jump all over this. GLWS. Best SS game ever in my opinion.

The later non-LE run (and the LE's I think) had thre 7 digit displays right? The original had 6 digits?

Nice looking EBD right there. GLWS.

thats lovely. glws

That is a very nice EBD. I've only seen 7 digit displays, mine is an early standard one and its 7 digit

#11 10 years ago

I'd take that EBD over most DMDs any day.

BTW - all Eight Ball Deluxe machines had 7 digit displays.

You and me both! EBD is just a fantastic game, and this one looks pretty nice. Every time I play it I am amazed at how addicting it is. It is such a simple layout, and yet I can play it for ages. It always riles me up because I will have a BUNCH of short crappy games on it and I keep thinking I will beat it the next game... and a minute later I am trying again. Setup and playing well (and with the flipper conversion!), it is just pinball bliss.

That's a really nice looking EBD! Still one of the all time greats.

#14 10 years ago

DaveH, what's the flipper conversion you're referring to?

#15 10 years ago

Good Luck...a classy looking version of a classy game.

EBD can hold its own against dmds. Its a great game. Nice price.

Sorry, I should have specified. EBD has linear flippers. They are the ones that have the rod that goes all the way through. I have never like the feel of them. They always feel slow and heavy. It is a very quick change. Replace the pawls and the linkages with standard ones and it plays better in my opinion. The flippers just feel right after that.

Some people say it is the extra weight of the rod, others say it is the slot actuating the flipper adding a tiny bit of resistance. I bet that if you actually measured the difference in microseconds it would be tiny. But I think it feels worlds better, and it is a pretty cheap and fast change to do. They designed the linear ones to last longer, and that is fine on location. But in a home it makes more sense to have them feel best.

Nice game. Tempting. I've got so many hours on EBD from my high school and college days.

#20 10 years ago

I swapped out those shitty linear flippers on all my Ballys. The older mechs play so much better.

The EBD now has a pending sale. Thanks to everyone for your kind words and interest.
