I really like the crème color rather than the white that cpr used. I have also heard that the cpr versions were not drilled wide enough for the light cans to come thru the holes. I filed the edges of the ball hole in the upper right corner, where the clear built up a bit.
P3211827.JPG P3211828.JPG P3211829.JPG P3211830.JPGIt really looks great, sent an e-mail already, figured this one would be done soon. See where it ends up.
Have you ever noticed when you have a glass of milk the milk is higher around the edge of the glass? It is called surface tension. Liquid grabs or draws to edges. So when clear is wet it grabs to the drilled out holes, and their edges, causing lips around all of them. This makes a huge influence on ball travel, as well as things wont bolt down flat (because the surface is not flat)
P3211836.JPG P3211837.JPG P3211838.JPG P3211839.JPGI always go thru and paint the keylines around the inserts. Also I don't touch up. If there is a flaw, it is best to paint the whole area, and if your colors are not perfect, which shades like this white are very hard to copy exact, it is best to paint everything in that color, so there is nothing to compare with. There is about 35 hours of paint work here, but I doubt you will ever know what I painted, except what I have mentioned all ready.
If you are one of the people who have already talked to me about this pf, please email me and I will give you the info for first right of refusal, then I will prob just take the best offer if I cant get my asking price within 2 weeks.
cheers, ron kruzman
Wow, that looks stunning!
I'm new to restoration. I have a project EBD, haven't started on it yet, thinking about a playfield swap. I've been told if the new PF is not dimpled it's a major headache lining things up, especially for a novice like me. Is that accurate advice?
Amazing looking for sure.. Congrats to the new owner....
I am sure along way past my pinball EBD LE restore budget.
Beautiful EBD PF.
Most I have ever seen are so tore up. Would love to play on the machine that gets this PF.
That is simply magnificent, sensational, el-primo, all of the above. I can't see how this PF could possibly be improved upon. EXCELLENT work Ron, a true piece of art! All the best to the guy who gets this.

I've done a few playfield swaps and frankly do not trust the dimpling, so I check everything against the old playfield.
I would like to thank every one for the kind words. I think of it as art, and there is no body in the art biz for the money, because you don't make much, but knowing people really dig the work makes up for a lot of it.
Also, like free play said, I don't trust dimpling either, plus all of the pfs are different, and you are moving parts from your old pf, and you want the dimples to match your old pf most of all. So either way, you need to measure twice.
Also on clearcoat, I suggest people first use the dremmil with a burr bit to remove the clear, then drill. The burr bit wont really go thru wood, it just burns. You want to do this with any auto clear, which especially includes reproductions. If the clearcoat doesn't have a good bite on the original surface the clear will lift, from a dull drill bit. It hasn't happened to me but I know it happens.
Price is 1750 cash or trade up or down for nos/repro playfields. Or a game if you are around west mi. cheers, ron
Nice looking work.
I'm surprised that it's not sold already.
Pinsiders - look again how flat that playfield is.
I bought 8 of these EBD playfields all at once from IPB back when you could still get them. I'm down to my last one but it is the best of the best. I also bought 8 Kiss playfields from Gene at the same time. They were both exceptional reproductions and the wood used was nice and flat on the majority of them.
The colors are accurate and the lamp holes were drilled to the correct size. I like the fact that the all of the playfield holes are not spotted too. When I assemble these, I lay them out and make the hole location perfect anyway.
I wish I could buy about ten more of these.
Back on the market. The buyer flaked, and pulled the old "checks in the mail" for 8 days. Then said "it was not meant to be"
So if your word means more than a fart in the wind, and you are interested in this pf, drop me a line. cheers.
