Quoted from catboxer:

The triangle inserts are also supposed to be orange.

I remember this playfield. It was one of a handful where at the end we ran out of amber arrows. So rather than throw away the last few woods, we glued them up with clear arrows instead (for the 1-2-3-4-5-6).

The Firepower reproduction was indeed made with amber inserts in the 1-2-3-4-5-6 positions.

This insert difference, combined with the smudge, is what rated the playfield down to a Bronze (and thus the discount price). These were sold at the very end, when nothing else was left.

As for moving inserts, not surprised it was fine. Only about 20-25 Firepowers of the 150 made had any insert movement problems, and we ended up learning why very quickly. FP was the first playfield where we used Mirco inserts. Mirco inserts were from new tooling in Germany. The inserts had glass-smooth sides. While our epoxy gluing is the most rock-solid out there - that run, unbeknownst to us, without getting any teeth into the edges of the plastic, we learned that inserts *could* pop clean from the epoxy. Seemed tied to some kind of location/humidity/temperature shifts - because when it effected a board, it always happened AFTER leaving here (even after some of the boards sat here on racks for a month before shipping), and effected 1-10 inserts on the same board. Firepower was a winter shipment (at least on the Canadian/NE USA leg of the ground trip) so we assume some packages were in freezing trucks for sometimes days... contracting the wood just enough to grip those inserts and pop them off their epoxy.

Starting after Firepower we now grind ALL insert edges with 40 or 60 grit (even regardless of vendor) before they go into the wood. That was 3 years ago.
