I'm putting my CPR Firepower playfield up for sale. I need parts for my car, so this has to go. I was going to keep it and some day do a swap on my FP, but the wife is not liking how much I am spending on parts for the car, so I need to sell this to calm her down a little. Happy wife, happy life, so here it is! It's in GREAT shape! NONE of the inserts are lifting and it has a glass smooth finish. Check out the pics and you will see how nice it is. I'm asking $750 for it and shipping will be in the original box it came in and it usually is around $25 using Fedex so you have a tracking number. Located in Cincinnati zip 45065. Email me if you are interested! bconey4001@yahoo.com

Nice fair price - I see your not looking to pay your mortage by gouging the price....Nice to see this happen.....

#4 6 years ago

+1 with Stu on that one..

Man, that thing is freakin' beautiful. lol. I can't believe I'm selling my swapped Shuttle this weekend.

#5 6 years ago

My swap is almost done. shame you have to sell it. it really looks amazing in the machine.

#6 6 years ago

I finished my swap and it looks wonderful and plays so nice.

Chris, I sent you an email.

Yeah, FP is one of my favorite games and that is why I bought the play field, so I could make it even better....would LOVE to see it in the game and all finished, BUT my other "hobby" is my 1969 Camaro....that's what the money is going into. My driver rear wheel came off, so I need the money to buy parts to fix it. From one hobby into another. I will miss it, but it's funny how I don't think about that when I'm driving my camaro.

My Fp is restored already anyway....I got it from Phoebe, so she already restored the playfield and cabinet. It plays awesome already, so I figured I wouldn't miss the playfield as much.

Not trying to be a D***, this PF is gorgeous but these are $650 shipped from CPR. (I know the Gold is OOS) Did you do something special to it? What am I missing? I only ask because I was ready to jump on it, then saw the price.

Apparently I can swap the PF for ~$700, get a $300 BG and get then get $2500 for my $300 FP!

Yeah, I guess I have the same question as Leeb. I got an FP a few weeks ago, my first, in pretty decent condition, definitely playable. But I was checking out the replacement PF from CPR, and you're like $75 over that. What are we missing?

#12 6 years ago

Well, he did say that he's selling it to fix his car.

What's wrong with making a small profit?

#13 6 years ago

Wow, ok guys, I thought I had a very fair price. The Gold standard playfields are sold out and this is deffinately one of those quality. There are no flaws, no inserts lifting as can be seen by the last few pics of the hot dog inserts and the bonus multiplier inserts. I paid $650 with shipping for mine, had to send it back due to insert lifting so that was another $50 so I'm into it $700, so I am $50 over what I have into it I guess. I think my price is fair considering the quality of the playfield. I'm not trying to price gouge here like most people do with machines/parts, I'm just trying to get what I had into it back and a tiny little more so I can fix my camaro.....That's it! If you think the price is too high, then don't buy it...simple as that. Those that know me, know I am a honest guy and I'm not out to burn anyone, but enough of that.....thanks for the bumps and again, if anyone is interested, email me at bconey4001@yahoo.com

Thanks!
Brian

Don't let the price police get to you.

Good luck with the sale!

I don't understand what people are complaining about......
50 or 100 bucks more for a damn nice playfield that is probably already worth double if not triple the original value.
You know what guys, I am buying this playfield from Brian.
I am a FirePower fan and going to build a nice brand new machine around it that will make the whole thing factory new, just like I did with my GTB Black Hole.

Check it out and soon I will post the video here of my upcoming FirePower project:

Thanks you guys, and Brian of course, for letting me have this extreme unique item!!

Closed the deal with Brian last week.
I can not tell you how excited I am to get the playfield here and build the entire machine around it.
The cabinet will be reproduced, the artwork stenciled and an entire set of NEW boards will be inserted also.
Back in 2007 I redesigned the MPU, Driver, Sound/Speech & power supply boards for this game.
It was a run of 6 proto type sets, they all worked great and sold out within 2 weeks.
Meanwhile I improved the designs with better available and cheaper parts.
Also a NVRAM memory chip will be integrated to kick the batteries of these MPU boards.
Just too many times while repairing these boards I ran into that nasty corrosion.
The MPU and driver boards will connect through a regular 40 pin IDE connector;
No more mechanical connections, stress and terrible oxidation on these boards.
It is going to be awesome, a factory new FirePower in 2014/2015.
Only thing I really need is a NEW plastics set from CPR.
They are sold out but I know someone out there is sitting on a set and not using it.
If you have a set, PM me.

Any updates on the Firepower progress Fretto1?

#18 4 years ago

I got the playfield.
I redesigned the power supply; sound speech board, MPU & driver board.
All started from scratch, brand new parts and new additions to the designs.
I might post pictures soon.
As soon as I have all the electronics completed I will start building the new cabinet.
Meanwhile I am collecting all new and NOS hardware and parts to make this one factory rolled out new.

What is wrong with making a little profit? If you don't want to pay the price, don't buy it.

I am waiting for my playfield rotisserie table.
Been collecting plastics, hardware, wire and all loose stuff to get going.
Meanwhile also updated the PCB designs for power supply, driver and main board.
The sound speech board has been revamped too.
Thinking about going with red color circuit boards, FIRE all the way.
I also integrated a NVRAM chip for the memory backup; no more batteries on this board set either!
Yes, I owe you pictures and they are coming.
Everything factory new and 2015 upgraded....... gonna be a hell of a machine.
Will post asap.

I'd love to see and hear some specifics on the restoration and electronics mods that you've made... I'm getting ready to restore mine as well.

Hopefully you'll document and post some pics..

Be sure and try both one-way gates gone, and see what you like best.
It REALLY makes me laugh when I make an orbit shot and the ball comes screaming back at me!
