Hell ya it is.
Being the nicest Congo in the world should help your sale. Good Luck.

#15 10 years ago

Forget my offer. I'm outbidding myself. $4300 it is. Call me.

Wow, congrats. I know the game is very nice, but I didn't think it would move that fast.

#24 10 years ago

it was underpriced for the condition it seems.

Multiple offers, people offering more than their previous offer before even getting a response on the first one, people falling all over themselves and then toss shipping cost on top of it all.

Seems apparent this was probably worth closed to $4600 or even 5k...

The elite group pays for the best and they obviously have the cash to do so.

#25 10 years ago

Wow, nice sale! Gratz.

#27 10 years ago

I can't wait to have Pinchroma do the armor!!!

#28 10 years ago

what was the price on this?

#29 10 years ago

I'm going to have Alex do my Congo armor as well, which color were you thinking about? And congrats btw.

I am guessing $4300 (or more based on the fact that there were obviously many interested parties)

#31 10 years ago

Wow, Congo is catching up with Tron!

Same as ted's legs. Silver artery/shocker yellow top coat.

#33 10 years ago

There were multiple offers including straight up trades for Metallica Pro. Pinlawyer got the machine as cash worked better for all involved.

#34 10 years ago

Congo is one of the greatest pinball machines I have ever played. I've been singing its praises ever since I picked one up and always wondered when people would start noticing it. I had my armor powder coated orange:

and my ramps and habit rails powder coated candy lime green:

Several plays after getting it installed and it is still holding up well. You're gonna love it.

#35 10 years ago

Anybody can own Tron by contacting a retailer and ordering one. Try finding a decent Congo. Then add up the costs to restore it. Personally I would rather own Congo.

I almost puked yesterday when the deal was made. I will never see a Congo this nice again. I am new to the hobby and this move made sense for me. I'm told everybody in the hobby goes thru this at some point. I was fortunate enough to have Pinlawyer here to bust my virginity.

ANybody can also own MET by calling and ordering one

Should have kept the Congo buddy...

#37 10 years ago

Congrats on the sale! I knew a Congo in that kind of condition would move fast.

By the way, does anyone have any really cool Congo instruction and price cards? I don't like any of the ones I've found online.

#38 10 years ago

Not crazy cards by any means but just plain black.

I don't think instruction cards should compete with the rest of the art.

Interesting... Post a restored Congo for sale for $5K and people are calling you crazy. Post one for $4.3K and everyone's lining up to buy it.

#40 10 years ago

This was a fully restored game with a clearcoated playfield... doesn't mean the beaters are worth even close to $4300. Anyone who's had to do this kind of work knows this.

But now all the routed Congo owners are pumped up thinking their machine is worth more than it is.

I like the game, but it's still a "B" title.. but a good "B" title.

NOTE: Fancy powdercoating doesn't add that much value, especially fruity colors.

Pretty sure it sold for more that 4300

Hope noone is that silly. High end games are an anomaly as there is a very small supply and apparently still a large market of guys with the cash to buy them when they pop up.

Congo is most def an A title. No doubt about it! Still my favorite game to play currently and has been for 3 months+ of course that is JMHO man

I wonder if the comparison was made since congo and tron have highly similar layouts? Or maybe that was really obvious on his part and i missed it...oops

You're note is incorrect. A cv was listed for 6400 and didn't sell. I powdered it and that was the only change and it sold for 7900

Yes, that's why I made the comparison. I actually thought about selling my Congo to buy a Tron, when it first came out. But now that I've had some quality time on Tron, I'm happy I kept Congo.
