I’ve got a handful of offers, all lower, just a little too low to accept, especially <24 hrs. If I’ve miscalculated the market then I’ll just be keeping and adding to routing inventory.

#3 5 years ago

Price drop. Offers coming in too low, I must have mispriced.

#4 5 years ago

Your pin looks great and the mods are cool, but pretty expensive individually and in total - so that might be the reason for some lower offers. But it looks fantastic and a sale should be imminent!

#5 5 years ago

Man...I hate to price police, but the elephant in the room here is definitely the hacked out Doc Ock scoop. You are asking top dollar for this machine, and I think you will have a hard time. There's just no going back from that kind of modification (without a new playfield), and I think anyone looking to buy a high end pin is going to take one look at that and run. The pics appear to show the clearcoat chipping at the cut line as well...that is likely going to keep getting worse if that's the case. If that is just a reflection, I would be sure to post additional pics showing the clear is ok.

The sad part is, an easy tweak to the bracket and a little drop dead foam would have solved the bounce out issue without busting out a dremel. I honestly think you are going to have to drop the price substantially to get any serious interest unless you replace the playfield. Your best bet may be to strip out all of the mods and sell them separately, then sell the stock game for whatever the market will allow. Just a thought.

Seriously, no offense intended, and I wish you best of luck with the sale. It's a beautiful machine otherwise, so hopefully you will find a buyer who can overlook the playfield modification. Maybe go the craigslist route and hope to find a non-pinhead buyer who will not notice or care?

#6 5 years ago

Plus not everyone appreciates or values all the mods as much as you do. Nor do they want the hassle to remove them and sell them. One example is the apron. I dislike it and would want to buy a replacement. Certainly not worth $200 to me.
But I also don’t think the game is that overpriced.

The game plays so fast that I got more doc ock rejections than makes. Something had to be done and I had already tried all the bending and dead stop foam. Trust me I tried different angles and pieces of foam/bending galore.

I got the idea when I heard Gomez talking about how he fixed the rejections when improving the vault. The vault has a cliff that the ball falls off, almost never rejected. So I tried to replicate, and the reality is, I did. It almost never gets rejected now.

I get it, these kinds of buyers want this aura of originality and “collect.”

The clear isn’t chipping from ball, that’s from my work. I’ve seen zero additional wear since making this modification several months ago.

If you played this and then played another I think you’d choose this.

Thanks for the feedback.

P.S.
F Craigslist... I don’t need daily calls with people offering 5k.

I’ve a SMVE. About 1 in 3 fast, straight-in shots get rejected.

Yeah. Kev keeps his games, both at home and on location, in super nice shape. This BSM is awesome. Looks great and plays great. Who ever buys it is in for a treat!

SFGE is coming up next week. Out of towners should give this one a look.

honestly your price is right on target, that's a sweet machine with a lot of goodies and would be a great add to any gameroom.give it a little time it will sell

Yeah I am still getting used to the new NIB pricing.

This BSM with all chrome, including coin door and apron, mirrored BG, and a ton of mods is the same price as a new Prem stern. Color dmd kind of offsets lcd on newer games.

SMVE nib is still available from a few distros and is $6900 new. No color dmd on that so $425 brings it up to $7300ish, so same price. No chrome on that last time I checked.

Numbers seem about right to me in the crazy world that is pinball.

Yeah,I hear ya..The BSM that the OP is selling is in great shape and very beautiful looking, also from viewing the pics the game looks brand new.The chrome is the awesome looking i really really like that it adds a "POP" to the game.I do believe the BSM is limited in a certain amount made.

Morning Bump...Real Beauty here

Man can you imagine if new Prem level games had $1000+ worth of chrome on them?! The NIB $6700-$8000 pins don’t even have powdercoating on them anymore. We are talking no powder coating which is not even in the ballpark compared to Chrome on pricing. Chrome days on games like BSM are long gone.

Yes sad but true..That's what makes this one special and you dont see them come up for sale regularly.Owners tend to keep it in the collection just for the awesome look..its like the Ferrari Tessarosa of themed pins.

uggh i've bit my toungue since i first saw this ad 11 months ago, and seeing it again just confirms my sick feeling.. i absolutely cannot believe you sawed a hole (a terribly choppy and amateur looking one, none-the-less) in your high-value collectible, just because you couldn't get the Dock Ock shot to stick w/ regularity!! i own 2 of these, and trust me, there are so many possible fixes that you could've done or tried that wouldn't have involved you permanently destroying the appearance and resale value of this limited edition game. what on god's green earth were you thinking?!?!? that's something you do to an old, beat-up shoe because it's starting to hurt your foot. not to a Black Spider-Man! my god, man! i'm saying a little prayer.

3 offers at 6+

Please stop trolling a for sale thread of a machine you’re not interested in buying? Surely (hopefully?) you have better things to do?

I don’t see the issue. Problem was disclosed in writing AND 80 (YES 80!!!) pictures were taken. That’s a 40x increase over the 2-3 normally posted in a FS add.

I don't get all the animosity here. He made a modification to make the game play as intended. And like others have said, it isn't noticeable to the shooter. Some of you are acting as if he branded his initials in the middle of the playfield. And he was upfront about what he did and why he did it, and he included plenty of pictures. A heck of a lot better than some of the other sellers on here trying to hide stuff.

no animosity from me! it's nothing personal, i'm sure he's a really nice guy. my post is more Shock.. at the lack of thought that it takes to dremel a choppy hole into your collectible pinball machine, just to make a shot more reliable. if it's not the stupidest thing i've seen done in the hobby, it's definitely at least in the team photo. but hey, like some of you said, at least he's not hiding it. so A+ for Honesty!

Unlike other LE's where the PF is hard to come by BSM had nothing unique on it's PF so can be replaced. I see NOS ones for sale all the time.

sure, $800 and 40-80 labor hours (min) by an experienced restorer, later. i wouldn’t want to do that.

...and by “Team Photo”, i’m referring to the one that includes the guy who powered-coated his shooter rod, and then it wouldn’t fit back in the housing. total classic! bump.

Can’t resist- actually declaring me stupid? Really?

Simultaneously calling me stupid and nice. Pretty sneaky, you little rascal. Really clever way of saying it too.

Far as team photos go, I heard they’re about to take the one of people wasting their own time posting in a for sale thread of a machine they’re not gonna buy, on a topic that’s already been covered ad-nauseum. Better hurry and get front and center! And then get back to type-type-typing away!

We have different opinions. I don’t think it is the first time people have disagreed? Different opinions also doesn’t make me stupid. If you think that, that’s just weird.

But wait, there’s more- you also found a way to rip on someone else from a completely unrelated topic? Please move along... why not just be respectful, seems easy enough, but I guess not?
