NOS playfeild I got 2 years ago. Planking issues corrected and cleared. Will install this fall.
Quoted from FatPanda:Thank you for the pictures. I need to see the colors of the wires and which pin it goes to. I am looking for something like this:
J2[quoted image]
Ok, let me see, I wrote to my electronics technician if it's easy to unplug those connectors, I tried but it's pretty fixed. I'm afraid of breaking something. He didn´t answer me yet. I don´t know anything about electronics, as soon as I have an answer, I'll let you know.
Quoted from Inkochnito:I would suggest you relocate you batteries
If they start leaking you will have to replace the connectors and the print headers of the lamp driver board.
Move the battery holder to the left side panel of the backbox.
Peter
Thank you very much for your advice Peter. It's something I've been thinking about for a while now but I still haven´t had the opportunity to do it with my technician. It really is an honor that a person as important as you, in the world of pinball, has alerted me to that little big detail. Thank you very much for this and for everything you do in the world of pinball
Found the resolution to my problem. some of the pins were shifted one position on the J2 connector, which explained why things lit up when they shouldn't have and vice versa. Used the connector page found in the manual to get the wire colors and the pin position.
You beat me to it Spraynard. Let the painting begin!

PinballPimp did you make the stencils so the blue goes on last? The last time I tried painting frontier with some inferior stencil set, the Yellow and orange had to go on super thick to no longer see the blue, but it was so thick that it looked odd
Brought home a Frontier not long ago.
Playfield wear where mylar was not present and the game definitely needs a tune up (insert lamps light sporadically). Previous owner had the background sounds turned off -- switched them back on and I am definitely in the camp that likes the crickets, especially when there are multiples chirping away. Definitely made a point to remove that battery from the MPU!
I’m very happy to join the club finally! The game didn’t have keys so I took a risk and paid for it. It is missing the entire transformer and rectifier assembly.
If anyone has one or comes across one please think of me

Congrats! You got the important parts

The guy is still sticking to his story that it was working until he stored it

Oh brother, what a guy
Quoted from Tsskinne:Anyone have a decal or know of where I can get a decal for the spinner?
I can make one. What you want on it?

Thank you. I’m honestly fine with just a replica of the original but if you rather just get creative on it feel free, I’m not picky but anything will look better than what’s on it now just being mostly worn off white paint.

Let me see what I can come up with.
did frontier ship with the common gun metal gray legs of ballys at the time, or did they have a polished finish? I've seen it both ways in pictures. thanks!

Looks closer to gunmetal
Can someone take a picture of their frontier bonus gate assembly. My gate is staying up after it has been collected and I'm not sure of the reason. Thank you.

Perhaps its just the 'Gate recall adjustment'? - SW24 - On keeps the gate up going into the next ball

Someone told me they think it is my star roll over switch in that area is what trigggers the gate so I will be checking that out after work today.

Those can be a punk sometimes, dial it back in and you may be good for a long while
I thought I'd never find one, but on Saturday, I made a whirlwind 900 mile round trip to pick up a Frontier. It needs some work -- a bunch of lights are out and the flippers are in dire need of a rebuild -- but I can't stop playing this thing. Even with a right flipper that chooses not to flip one out of every ten times, it's the ultimate "one more game" game. I'm gonna be dragging ass at work today...
Hello - I joined the club from Germany.
Never played this rare game before and a 25 year forgotten one was offered to me for a real fair price.
It is still working and it looks still nice. Needs some work on the electricity and cleaning, but the base is real good. Backglas is perfect, only Center plastic is missing and one plastic has a missing small edge.
First game played was impressive!
My question: Has anyone a good scan of the center plastic or a source to buy it?
Well this is good news for a lot of us I bet.

Finally!
Has anyone gone through the experience of repainting their cabinet? Looking for recommendations on paint colors that worked well.

I painted mine and I like the colors. For some reason my photos won’t load to pinside right now. Shoot me a PM and I can text them to you.

Shout out to Upkick Pinball for doing a playfield swap on my Frontier. Almost 2 years since buying a playfield from Ebay and getting it restored.....now its installed (with new lamp sockets) and made it home. So pumped!

Anyone have one for sale?
Picture is from eBay , certainly there’s a better cheaper one than the one on eBay right??
[quoted image]
I may have one in a parts stash I’ll go look when I’m up near the stash next week.
Quoted from Ballypalooza:Tommy.... look for the center plastic in the stash too. All my plastics are good except this one. Thx

Will do. I think my plastics are still up at my lake house from when I worked on the game up there.

That’s is gorgeous!

I keep forgetting to post up about my Frontier Restoration Progress.
A link to the beginning (don't worry about that Paragon part ):

Next step is reworking the playfield -- a hardtop install (as well as a couple other "upgrades") is the plan.
