I would plead with DP to allow owners to replace audio on the rom files. Ship it with generics, and whatever happens after that happens.

Likely the only way "Universal" could allow the songs to be used. The alternative would be making individual deals with each artist, but that would likely cost as much as the entire movie license... per song.

This was always seen as a challenge from the beginning, and their solution about "Dutch laws" allowing them was very "Predator" sounding. At least it didn't end up killing the entire game.

Those words about being in the manufacturing business are ringing so true now. You have to MAKE the widget, whatever it is. You can't just toil away forever (on other people's money).

I can live with covers/recreations.... instrumental version of Gypsy King's Hotel California, etc.

If it's "other" music, that sort of resembles it, ie: some spanish guitar tune, then that will suck.

What's shitty is that same organization is probably going to want to juice operators for "public performance" for those re-recorded songs in the game for any route operators.
