Quoted from vid1900:What if they don't and the only music on the pin is by Golden Earring?
What if the reason for the hardware switch was so they could employ 128 bit encryption?
Stern's encryption gets broken because 1000s of people own them. Will there be enough hackers interested when there are only 200 owners world wide?
All possible. That's the nature of it.
All I can say is I was told music assets not encrypted.
It doesn't mean anyone will make anything like pinball browser or that it won't change. Dp officially is selling a TBL with midi music.
Unofficially, like everything else in our hobby, the sky is the limit.
I personally am very VERY optimistic that a workaround will eventually come about by one of our fellow hobbyists, but I am in no way certain. But I think the cult like status of the license coupled by its inherent subversive nature and the fact that interested parties will have paid thousands just out of enthusiasm for the theme makes me think it's just a matter of time.
Besides, if I could stomach Tommys DE soundtrack all these years before PinSound, I can certainly tolerate tbl
s music.
But that's just me.
