It controls the Amp suit magnet which doesn’t have a diode. But good call if it would be something that does.
Quoted from dmacy:Will be a really nice machine when done.
Of course it will. It's going to be "a macy", just like my Tommy, DM and BC.
I guess you can say that I collect Macy's.
We have Avatar 100% and running with 30 or so games played with magnet working. Should be able to say this one is done short of knowing where that STDM spring is supposed to go/oriented.
I poked around in the Avatar owners thread and it looks like the spring goes on the bottom post.
Here are a few posts where people posted pictures of how theirs were installed. They appear to be pretty consistent.
Spring installed and does help big time. Unfortunately after many games (30-40) the transistor failed and locked on for magnet. So something is up. Worked fine until I had heavy use of magnet with multiball. Magnet unplugged but did put fresh 4amp fuse in. Still ok but leaving magnet unplugged. So machine is done but not right.

Aw man that's a bummer, time to pull that board in the bb and see what's up.

Yes, pulling it out yet again. Seems like there's something else going wrong so believe he will be sending the board out as I've done what I can do. Short of replacing the MOSFET again, I'd be concerned it will happen again.
Quoted from dmacy:Closing the thread as he now has it home. It really is a fun game when set up and playing well. His magnet issue still persists but he should have that issue resolved soon.
Thank you for the opportunity and to all a good night!
Nice job, it looks great....well, from what I can tell by the 15 feet away, out of focus, craigslist for sale ad photo - it looks great

That's my fault. It's the crappy picture I texted dmacy when I got it home and set it up. The basement isn't completely finished, but it's the first pin that's been allowed downstairs. Floor is planned over the next few weeks and then all of the others can join it.
I thought it was fitting that it be first, since it was the first machine I ever played.

Thanks but it really wasn’t too bad. Just needed some dumbass to clean it up.
That’s how I would’ve taken a picture of it too that is, until I played it when done. JK It’s a really fun player.
