We're back!

After a disaster in our datacenter took down our server, we are now running Pinside on a brand new server. However, things may not work as expected as we are still polishing the playfield and adjusting some switches! We might be switching to maintenance mode a few times. Please see this forum topic for more info.

Freeplay40 I know I am probably a little late to the party on this, but would you happen to have in a drawer somewhere the ramp lid/cover for the center ramp of a Hurricane?
I don't need a ramp just one of these covers.

Let me know, and thank you.

Today was a good day. Got my first COVID vaccination and completed the build on the new machine. Begin testing the functions tomorrow!

Congrats.

Nice! Looking forward to the Demo Man ramp set and many other larger ramps.

I knew when there was no post for two weeks something big was coming. Looks really cool.

Are the zones to allow you to control which edge doesn’t get heated?

I order my plastic precut to various sizes based on what I will be forming. The zones allow me to effectively heat each size.

This machine turned out pretty complex...at least for me. Got up the nerve to plug in the 25# power cord and start testing the electronics. Everything checked out so far. Test heated a small piece of plastic in one of my other machine's frames...success! Next up will be the construction of the various platen sizes. Everything looking good so far!

So that's how he gets the ramps .. Fire up the Deloran travel back in time and pick up new ramps from the factory .....
Nice set up , guess your unstoppable now!

#4414 46 days ago

I can almost smell the Comet ramps cooking.

#4415 46 days ago

Where is the Delorean ? Lol

I’m impressed , that took a lot of work and insight about what situations you might encounter while making the different ramps . Very cool .

Excellent, congrats, more ramps on the way

Got a little sidetracked this last week, but was finally able to test the new machine. SUCCESS! Since High Speed was my first ramp I let it be the beta for the new machine. I can now build the two larger platens for the larger ramps, but I will hold off until I get the Comet center ramp mold cast as it will take probably a couple weeks to cure and finish.

Been a long time coming, but getting the new machine operational is a very big hurdle!

#4419 31 days ago

Edited a wrong photo away....

#4420 31 days ago

Could you make some Fire Buildings?

Assume they would have to be just clear pieces and let people paint the brown and white.

So, so many Comet owners are really happy this is coming soon. I can't wait!

Anyone out there know where to buy the decal for the Comet center ramp?

That is the decal for the Comet ramp on Cyclone. Not the right one for the Comet Center ramp. I have reached out to Marco to let them know this Comet ramp is coming.

I have a few spare Comet center ramp decals I will be selling.

...any chance there's a North American-based outlet with it? Freeplay40, you mentioned alerting Marco that you were making the ramp; did they indicate that they could stock this?

Looks like that is a no.

This would pair nicely with the new machine:

We call it Doc's box
- Seven Stills X Tioga-Sequoia - 1.21 Gigawatts 375ml Imperial Oat Stout Whiskey
- Seven Stills X Tioga-Sequoia - 1.21 Gigawatts 500ml BA Imperial Oat Stout
- Tioga-Sequoia - 1.21 Gigawatts 500ml BA Imperial Oat Stout
- Tioga-Sequoia - 1.21 Gigawatts 16oz Oat Stout

I was replying to Mark's new machine with the flux capacitor 1.21 gigawatts sticker.

You would be wise, if you can, to wait for Mark. The ramps from Australia are too thin.

Hey Mark, I'll be in Washington on Friday, can I stop by and pick up a Comet ramp?

#4437 21 days ago

Absolutely welcome to stop by....but I do not have the center ramps made yet. Even got my second COVID vaccination today in anticipation!

Thanks! We're actually heading east as soon as we land. Big ski trip to Idaho and back. Congrats on shot #2, I've only got the first one in me, so a bit nervous for the flight.

Quoted from Freeplay40:

Here's the one-off I made up for Tomass in Alaska for his Diner. His game was missing the ramp completely. I originally assumed the ramp was plastic when in fact it is metal. I used 14 gauge stainless...might be overkill! Fortunately he had the support bracket which in Diner's case is a little unique.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Still possible to make this DIner lift ramp? I do have the support bracket that I can have a friend here transfer it with new rivots.

That was a one off that I did. If I had the complete damaged piece that I could copy I could make one.

#4446 16 days ago

Technically, I was only needing the ramp flaps on mine. Game is over at a friend's house getting reassembled with a CPR playfield.

Is there a list for new Demoman Ramps? Thanks Mike

#4448 12 days ago

Its been a while but is there still thought to making the blue tar pit ramp for Last Action Hero?

I've got my hands very full, but I expect either I or JodyG will do it at some point.
