Quoted from Brijam:

So glad you're feeling better!
Is a Space Shuttle ramp a possibility?

It is one I really want to do, but I need to at least build a bigger heater so I can heat a larger piece of plastic....it's just a little too big for my current means of heating. Although I am, albeit, slowly building a new machine, my current machine can handle the larger piece of plastic, so I may build the heater first. The other hurdle I had was to develop the proper blue dye for the ramp, but that was accomplished this last week.

Great to hear you're feeling better!
Since we are talking new projects, I hope to see those red Transporter ramps someday. Would like to be on the list for a new Space Station ramp too please.
Thank you!

Would love for you to do the other R&B ramp.

Pinbot is a definite at some point......need larger heater. As far as color, I could do it in the new blue or the turquois.

Most likely, but as with Pinbot Space Shuttle....need bigger heater.

Always welcome visitors to the Freeplay shop. It's not rocket science but it is a lot of work.

I would contribute to a gofundme to help you get the bigger heater. Anyone else wanna chip in to get these projects going?

Appreciate the offer but I would never expect that kind of help. I have everything I need already purchased for the new heater. It's just me having been slowed down by health issues....knock on wood...that are now, hopefully, behind me. A couple more days getting caught up and then I need to spend some time working on one of my mother's houses. Mother has been down with dementia for several years now and the rental income is what pays for her care....So enjoy the holidays while I putter along with some new ramps.

Seems like a long time since I have posted any ramp photos. Been working on the new dyed blue PETG Space Station ramps. Couple photos of some of the new ramps shipping out tomorrow. Pretty much got everyone covered and holding one until Friday. At the moment I think I only have 2 left that I can assemble as I have run out of switches. Placed an order for more this evening which will probably be here by this weekend. I'll probably make a few more while I still have the blue dye set up.

Hello, I would be in for both Black Rose ramps, I need the left ramp and whirlpool ramp, as mine is cracked. They're available? Will they be available in the future? Thank you for this great job for the pinballs.

There has been some interest in the Whirlpool ramp, but I've got quite a list of other ramps I need to do first.

This!!! They would look so awesome in red, blue, or smoked clear in my opinion.

Shout out to Mark, received my new ramps for my Swords of Fury yesterday. They look awesome! Mark did the install of my old parts on the new ramps, cleaned everything up, added a new ramp flap, and had them back to me in a few days.

Exceeded all expectations and then some! Thanks Mark!

Received an email from Marco this morning saying he has WABAC decals in stock.

Another shot of Mark's excellent work, my new rufio ramp next to the old one.

I like the extra metal protectors, that will make it last a loooong time.

Sweet Goodness! Time to spend some money at Marco's. Can't just get a sticker, gotta get some other stuff to make shipping worthwhile.

Didn't know these parts existed. I bet there's a ton more of me out there who need ramps that don't even know what's going on here. Need a website and some pr from it to make more ramps that need to be made.

I know it's been covered, I read the whole thread unlike some. I couldn't anymore stronger suggest the time machine time warp ramp. I'd buy no less then 2 for myself. I'd buy a whole ramp set for the game. I don't think anyone with the game wouldn't drop$200 plus into that ramp to fix that eye sore.

For now I would like 2 of the Dr. Who pieces. I'll take high speed. Maybe 2
I'll confirm the rest soon, but certain ill take the hurricane ramp, f14, maybe a red, I'll let you know.

#1733 1 year ago

Appreciate your interest. Yes I have been pretty low key here on Pinside. Since you've read the whole thread, you know I had some health issues that needed to be dealt with and I am pleased to say that I am now returning to much better health and more importantly more energy. Since my most recent surgery to rebuild my disconnected rib cage, I have been on a short leash with the doctors for adequate recovery time. Basically I was told to restrict activities until January. I think that was a stretch, but although I got a flu shot this year, i was still able to find it. This did slow me down yet again...the associated coughing wanted to rip apart the metal straps in my chest....but over the flu now and wanting to get back into development. I know I could sell a lot more if I went more public.

As far as marketing, my fellow Pinsiders have been my greatest support and at least up until now, I have been producing ramps at a comfortable pace which prior to my health maladies allowed me to continue to bring new ramps to the market...mostly focusing on what is simply not or never has been available. I do enjoy making the custom colored and clear ramps for those games that had black ABS ramps that are by now failing. I actually prefer not to reproduce any black ramps.

The Time Warp ramp is a very desired ramp, however the mold for it cannot be made with the current material I use for my molds....the mold has very thin parts which simply will not hold up with my current material. The original molds for these were machined out of aluminum for strength and much larger production runs. Simply not cost effective to have one made out of aluminum...however, there is a material that I hope to try for this some time soon that may fit the bill...we'll see on that one.

All that said.... I am presently making ramps on demand. High Speed, Hurricane and the Whirlwind lift ramp are readily available on short notice. I can do a red F-14, but I have discontinued the use of acrylic for ramps (I now dye PETG which is a much better plastic for ramps). I am set up with dye at the moment to do the blue ramps, but will set up for the red soon as I plan to do a run of Guns and Roses soon (R ramp).

I also offer assembly services for those not set up to do riveting for a fee for ramps like High Speed and Swords of Fury. Some ramps with just a couple unique pieces, I do the assembly for no fee with purchaser sending me the parts...Rocky and Bullwinkle WABAC ramp for example.

Probably first question is, are you set up to do riveting on High Speed? If not I can do that for you for a measly $20 with your parts sent to me....metal cleaned and polished.

#1734 1 year ago

I can rivet and all kinds of stuff. Paint a car with a roller brush I'm so good. (Jerky boys) sorry couldn't help myself

Bigger oven may possibly bring the can't find anywhere W?D ramp maybe????

Not considering that one just yet....

#1737 1 year ago

Not a ramp but....
.. this piece of blue unobtanium would be awesome to see reproduced.
It could not be the most complicated of molds either(?)

The blue topper dome for Lethal Weapon 3, with almost 11000 machines made
and most of them with a smashed, cracked, crushed, missing blue dome should be
like mining pay-dirt for gold.

I would stand first in line up for the first two...

Cheers

Can't tell for sure, but that might be an injection molded piece.

If it where so, would that pose a problem for vacu-molding?

Mark

Any update on the Transporter ramp?

Thanks.

#1741 1 year ago
Quoted from mima:

from my experience with vacuum forming at work, pulling something that tall would thin out the walls a lot, and would require a lot of pressure to get a good pull.

#1742 1 year ago

Any chance you'd consider making Party Zone ramps? I personally need the right one, and I know all except the left main have been unobtainable for ages and are definitely in demand

#1743 1 year ago

+1 for a Dr. Dude.
thx

#1744 1 year ago

Izzy, good you found this thread.
Mark, i suggested again to friend Izzy above he find you for the Dr Dude center ramp.
Any chance you could add Black Rose whirlpool cover on plastic ramp to list. Love a new cover, but if you do the ramp , Id buy that to.
Heres to a healthy, strong, prosperous new year for you Mark, you deserve it!

I am just completing a run of clear ramps for Genesis. I believe I have contacted all who were on the waiting list, but if I missed anyone let me know.

I also made a few extra sets.

#1746 1 year ago
Quoted from Freeplay40:

That part was made with an air-assisted pressure input in order to make the bubble.
The top of it is like thin tissue paper. It is how vacuum formed domes/bubbles are made.

I actually have on loan from a friend the Demo man ramps....however, the large one is just a little too big for me to handle right now.
