Hi PinHeads! So I'm working on a Williams Comet and when I turn the machine on it automatically goes into 'settings' mode. I then have to cycle through the settings in order to start play. I've already set the Freeplay to '00' so where do I go from here? I appreciate any and all help

Flat batteries.

Or corrosion around/on the battery holder.

It’s not remembering your settings.

Your right rotordave. The far right battery set at the bottom was corroded and the brass inlet piece that connects to the board fell right off when I took out the battery. Any idea on what to do to fix it?

Pretty common!

Choices:

1/ replace the RAM chip with an NVRAM chip, this will retain all the memory and settings. No more batteries.

2/ replace that battery holder with a remote one. Get the batteries away from the CPU board where the acid can create issues.
