Back again guys
I have a freedom EM version.

I have managed to get it working well.
But I cannot pin down one fault.
On the spinning wheel it doesn't score on the 5000 bonus ...no pulses or anything .
Also on the advance bonus plus 500 position it only advances the bonus and doesn't score the 500
I'm thinking it's the same issue for both but does anyone have any ideas I'm starting to just go round in circles

Check score motor switch 2B. It is common to both the 500 and 5000 scores.

Thanks I'll let you know

That stack tested out OK and has been cleaned
It must be further down the line
Would you know what else they share . Its got to be a shared issue leading to that bank of switches .

Check score motor cam 9 switch A , also the normally open switches on the wheel score relay.

Does the 3 advance position also score 3000 points?

#7 1 year ago

Yeah 3000 works fine

And the advance bonus + 500 advances bonus but won't score 500.

I'll be checking cam 9 this morning
Seems like whatever is powering stack 2 is failing ..

Nothing
I spent 3hrs this morning going over all the base board relays switches again
It must be something simple to do with that 5 score stack of switches .
The whole game is playing really well and fast its just this bonus issue .
It odd that it's scoring the advance bonus but not the 500 extra points ..so the wheel stepper must be doing its job

Looking at the schematic it looks like there are different switches on the Wheel score has two sections on the schematic. One to manage the bonus/double bonus/spinner values. The other manages the scoring.

I have added the scoring section. Zero on the wheel unit matches the 5000 bonus opposite the spinner lites and goes clockwise around the wheel.
Points scored at each position:
0. 5000 (following the green path)
1. 500 - green
2. 5000 - green
3. 3000 - blue
4. 500 - green
5. 500 - green
6. 500 - green
7. 500 - green
8. 500 - green
9. 3000 - Blue

For the 500/5000 point issue I would check the following (highlighted in green):
1. Switch on 2B Wire color: Yellow (30) and Yellow-Brown(38) is clean and making good contact (Recommend testing with a continuity meter).
2. Wheel score Relay switch Yellow-Brown (38) and Green-Red (41)
3. The Wheel wiper finger(s) is making good contact Green-Red (41) 1000 pt Brown-Red (81) and 100 points Gray(90)
4. ensure the wiper finger is centered on the rivet. And both are clean and making good contact.
4. While checking the switches/wipers also check for broken wires/cold solder joints.
5. Check Continuity from the motor switch to wheel score relay
6. Check Continuity from the wheel score relay to 100/1000 pt wires. (While the wiper finger is on the proper rivet).
7. watch the Wheel score relay to see if it only pulses vs hold while the motor spins.

(repeat for the blue section if required)

Note: the 500 & advance relay is NOT triggered
