Data East, 1991I Have two questions about my Data East Batman.
After playing it for an our the game sound just stops and makes a relatively loud buzz. After shutting down it starts up perfectly. The game sound wrks perfectly.
Is there a way to set it to free play?
Go into adjustments and and set adjustment 32 to yes for free play. There are buttons inside the coin door.
Use of the buttons is explained in the manual.

The sound problem is likely an amplifier on the sound board that may be failing. Another possibility is a connector associated with the sound board, in particular both ends of the ribbon cable - that re-seated will fix the problem
