    Quoted from crlush:

Were in Florida now, too bad we leave a week early, first show was southern pinball expo, but then they moved it a week later to freeplay florida.

The show has always been timed to be the weekend following IAPPA, so there is really no change in the timing. Originally this was an all-pinball show called Southern Pinball Festival, but it became Free Play Florida when they decided to add arcade and console video games from the defunct Gamewarp show. With three major shows in Florida every year, I liked having one of them be an "all-pinball" show. Even still, FPF was a good show last year and looks to be even better this year. The venue is also excellent. I love the show being in the same hotel I am staying in. The hotel is really nice too with great food and drinks.

ANYONE know if the planned pinball list that will be at Florida is posted yet?

I don't think they will be posting a list. An exact list is hard to nail down. People complain if a game on the list does not show up or gets used in the tournament instead of the free play area.

There should be a great selection of old and new. There are a lot of collectors in Florida with some nice games. There are also always some nice EMs. www.freeplayflorida.com

Personally I am bringing Target Alpha, Abra Ca Dabra and BSD. This is subject to change if any of them starts acting up. I try to only bring games that are playing 100%. Also, one or more of these will most likely be in the tournament. This is a PAPA circuit tournament, so plan on playing a few rounds to test your metal!

Tournament games are generally from all eras from the 70s to today. Most likely you will see DMDs mixed in with a couple of SS and EM games. Last year there was a classics side-tournament. Not sure if there are any changes for this year as I have no insight into the current plans.

Red Solo Barcade (my gameroom) laminated lanyard schedules for Free Play Florida. I can't wait! Wish I was going to make it to IAAPA.

Don't forget to print your Pinside lanyard too!

    Quoted from LOTR_breath:

If any locals want to spill the beans on what games might be in the main or classics tourneys, we have about a 9 hour drive to do some studying!

Donny keeps that stuff under wraps pretty well. Take solace in knowing that the locals will have no extra knowledge than what you have. Also, with the pump and dump qualifying there is plenty of time to learn the rules and also the quirks of each particular game.

I notice that Papa.tv has not updated their schedule. I assume they will be broadcasting at least the finals if not some of the qualifying again this year?

Was definitely a fun start. The hotel is really nice. I'm by the pool this year instead of the tower and I like it.

    I'm a little hungover BTW.

I ended up bringing Abra Ca Dabra, Target Alpha and Sinbad. I intended to bring BSD but the Mist multiball stopped working the night before the show, so I brought Sinbad instead.

    There's video games here too.

I'm pretty sure they had seven machines in the main tournament and four in the classics last year. The way they expanded the main hall this year there was less room for the tournament area. I heard rumors of a bigger venue next year. With all the out of state players who showed up this year, they really did need more games.
