Here's the question - do the flippers work at all times (and at duration) BEFORE the ball is even launched.....if so, the flippers 'dying' are related to the balls the game senses it has....in other words - and I had this happen....someone loaded too many balls in a Freddy (which starts with multi-ball) and the flippers would die while a ball was in play - giving the sense of the flippers dying for no reason- until the next ball was up.....
Quoted from Nightmare:How did the glove turn out?
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/73293 $185 for one..
Quoted from Haggy38:Hi Guys,

WOW!!! But good luck - it's a worthy pin of restoration.....Steve Young at Pinball Resources is your key guy for Gottleib parts...
Quoted from Luckdragon100:Considering buying a Freddy, but I see this curved circular line / cut on the bottom of the playfield, above the flippers. I've seen it on a few other machines, but I'm not sure if this is damage or just the style of the playfield? Any input would be great, thanks! G

Mylar....nothing wrong at all
Quoted from Luckdragon100:Anybody ever use this service or know of anything similar? I'm considering buying a machine with a broken claw but I fear I'm not handy enough to fashion new blades myself haha.

Just get ahold of mrsyfy he makes repro gloves...
Almost done....some cure time - a little epoxy added to fill in the gaps and some paint touchup....
Although it looks amazing and likely well made (never to break??)- I just can't do $250 for a new one....the last repro from pinball_customs I got ~5 years ago - was no better than the original, supposedly it too was never going to break - well that didn't pan out...so I decided to head back to the original glove (which I still had) and do the fix....I found Viggin900 stl/obj files he made of the blades so I could print new ones out of ABS....from there, I took about 1.5hrs to Dremel out the old blades - don't use a cut-off wheel seen in so many videos - use the many, many small carbide wood carving bits available...and take your time....you may have epoxy around - but you just can't beat SCIGRIP WeldOn 16 - sometimes known as IPS WeldOn 16....it's expensive but the stuff works....
Thought I'd share....
Matt
Quoted from Nightmare:I did the exact same for mine and haven’t had any issues since.
I thought about it, but frankly 3D printing is so simple since the design work was already done and ABS (most PLA will work too) is plenty strong enough...took about an hour to print, a couple minutes to sand them & paint...perfect fit....
Quoted from blowback1976:Well this sucks…… Still have the original, also with broken claws. Is lexan the best option?[quoted image][quoted image]
Well, I wondered....that said, I think GeekedOnPinball is still active (unlike @pinball_customs) and will refund/replace - but I'd be going for a refund obviously....I tell ya - I had held out hope he had the right materials....guess not...
That said, some have used Lexan (a polycarbonate), some used actual metal...others like myself simply 3D printed them from ABS...all are good options....the key is they are blades that run into the fingers - not simply extruded from the tips of the primary material....the weak point is said junction as opposed to having them separate pieces that fit into the glove...
If you need further discussion - PM me your number...I'll call ya...
Matt
Thinking about it more - if the glove was made in 2 (well 4 pieces, but you get the point) and the blades individually glued/epoxied into the glove in post production - so to speak - that would likely prove to be far more successful.....and not likely to break - making them from 1 piece of plastic has proven to not be the way to go in the last 29 years...
Restoration of original glove complete....i know the blood isn't for everyone, but my daughter wanted it on..... I'm already rebuilding the other one i have.....i replaced all the blades..... It was a long process, but i wanted it done well...

Shot you a PM...call if you like...short answer...his stl is correct...but just like you found - you have to scale...~393%...I think I did 390%, this is simply due to the math 100mm =3.93 inches...I corresponded with him - as I believe you saw - but he simply didn't understand I guess....he initially had an obj that didn't work - I got him to make that stl...just scale it....you are looking for ~3mm of thickness and the center blade to be ~88mm long - that's when you've got the scale correct...that's all I did...the results were perfect...doing the restoration is tricky...takes a long time...but my restored glove(s) has been played quite a bit over 4 months and holding up great....
Quoted from JakeJones07:Just saw your message. This response is great, I’ll scale off the 3mm blade thickness!
Thanks so much for your help!
If you want help on techniques and glues to use - it's a multi-adhesive approach - the tutorials I found were nonsense....they left you with a rather poor looking repair...
Just call
Matt
Quoted from Viggin900:I checked the file in Cura and it seems fine. Make sure autoscalling is enabled. I even rexported another file and posted it called scaled. Not sure if that helps. I also put the dimensions in case there is any issue. I think you have autoscaling turned off, 30 downloads and I haven't heard anything? Hope this helps.
Can you go ahead and post the link to the scaled file again just in case.. I didn't find it .. I'm using prusa.... It didn't auto scale....
Quoted from Viggin900:It was added to the project. Sounds like it is Prusa users having the issue?

Possibly? I'm not sure what JakeJones07 is using - he's never said...
