Anyone have any ideas for why my lower cabinet speaker makes a humming noise the whole time the machine is on? It used to be fairly intermittent but now is any time the machine is on. Sounds like the gain is up too high. No noise from the upper speakers.

Quoted from GeekedOnPinball:

Can someone do me a huge favor and tell me the size of the screw that goes in front of the Freddy head? There are two of them that secure the plastic there is it just a short screw? What size do these use?

What does the screw hold on? I can look for you then.

Have a link? Not sure what I'm running.

Hi, I already tried and works perfect, send me a pm.

On first boot you should see your version 744/3, 744 is the game number and /3 is your rom version.

I will check mine this evening when I get home, but can anyone tell me what it is that updating the ROM version actually does for you?

It corrects some scoring issues, solenoids force, etc

I've always thought about doing that but didn't want to paint the metal. I think a sticker/decal would work better. Just incase you wanted to revert back you could. Looks good!

Decals are an excellent idea as well, I do like paint so it’s natural to do this, I put a heavy coat of glossy car paint, so its going to resist those lazy Freddy mouth shoots.

Well Freddy is wearing his best shirt now, be patient my friend, I got to let it cure over night before some action jejejeje.

Quoted from Hitlow:

You can't buy a new glove anymore. What people are doing is taking a dremel and cutting out the old gloves and gluing lexan pieces shaped like blades and painted in there place. I have done mine over a year ago and it is still holding fast.

#773 2 years ago

Good Afternoon,
I just purchased a NOES Pin a few months back and love it. I know it is an older game but are there any MOD's out for this title still? Can you upgrade it to a Color DMD? It already has LED lights. Who makes the Custom instruction cards? Love to hear an see pictures of what you all have done with your Freddie's.

Any Playfield MOD suggestions?

I got to reproduce the razors and cut the glove with a Dremel tool, then glue them together with epoxy, I don't think they are selling the reproduction anymore.

Looks like it can be had on eBay. Someone is making reproduction ones at a limited run.

Freddy: A Nightmare On Elm Street

I've been thinking about adding this as a topper. Awhile back in previous posts you will see that Freddy Grave Walker was being used as an topper. I had one but seemed pretty overbearing if you ask me. This looks just right.

Yes you can. Just buy the Stargate or the Gottlieb Sigma kit. You would only have the single color Sigma ROM available now, but you can change the display to any color you want until it is colorized. Same goes for any other Gottlieb system 3 game.

You would need to get rid of the red paint for the color to come through. This will help.

Any chance anyone has an video footage of the Color DMD? I think its around $400 or so. Would love to see a video before spending the cash. Thanks

Freddy: A Nightmare On Elm Street

Mine also has been swapped to LED's but I still found the playfield to be dark to the point that it is difficult to see the ball unless the room is lit well. I found the Matrix Spotlight Kits to be a great addition to add some additional lighting to the game. TNT Amusements has a video on Youtube where they added some lights to a Freddy and I knew I had to have them. Super inexpensive as well. I used purple and blue LED's with brightness adjusters in 3 separate locations and added a white 4" LED lighting strip inside of the house, a red trough lighting kit, as well as Fire LED's inside of the boiler room. I just completed all of these this past weekend so I haven't taken any picture yet but can add some if anyone is interested.

For the Instruction cards I used MIKONOS. He is overseas but I got my cards within a few weeks and they look incredible

Correct. My post was about installing a Sigma display in any Gottlieb system 3 game. Use any single color until the game gets color.

I'm working on a 3d model and resin printed glove in engineering resin that I'm hoping will stand up to ball hits better than the original. It will also look better, more detail. I'm mid development of it now as my games glove is meh.

Rock on! This is good news. Look forward to the final product.

It’s possible that I’m the only one who considered the dark playfield an issue but if anyone else does, I found a reasonable solution from Comet Pinball for about $40. I got a trough lighting kit, a led strip and 3 spotlights. I used red at the bottom, purple in the middle, white led strip in the house, and blue at the top. I also put fire leds in the boiler room that run all the time and I am really happy with that. I’m bad about not taking before and after pictures so the before picture below already has the house light and the fire leds but you can still see the playfield difference. I was also having the issue where the Freddy head spit the ball out half ass and it goes right down the middle. Found it was hitting the head so I shimmed that up a bit

So this part broke off yesterday. It’s the metal deflector(?) under the glove, near the scoop. The two screws are still in the playfield along with the flat ends. Any thoughts on how to fix? I don’t see a comparable part anywhere.

Edit: Looks like it's here http://www.pbresource.com/plastic/gtb-30145.jpg but they are out of stock...uggh.

I would still contact PBR so he knows there's demand for the part (otherwise he'll never make any)

As a fix, I would see if you can find an existing L-bracket that you can attach with screws to replace the ones that broke.

As a 3rd option, if anyone wants to provide me with accurate dimensions of the three holes (accurate meaning caliper measurement), I'd be happy to model up a bracket that can be 3d printed (I would of course beef it up). I would upload it to thingiverse for anyone in the future needing a fix option (and happy to print some for anyone needing them, or wanting a backup).

drill out rivets, get some small screws, make 2 L brackets

who knows how I can get a Freddy TV mod for my Nightmare Pinball game?

#793 2 years ago

2 Questions:

What is the latest code for Freddy? I'm assuming that I will find it on the start up menu

Also has anyone else had an issue with the boiler room door getting stuck? Sometimes it gets stuck halfway up and other times at the top. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue and what they did to resolve it. Thanks

I made a very rough one for mine before I sold it (this was actually my first LCD mod I ever made).

I had someone contact me on youtube about making one (and I still had my rough 3d model from mine) so if there's interest I can finish it up

All my mods run off a pi, which means video is smooth frame rate (and the videos are stored separately on a usb stick so it's easy to change out)

Here’s a look at my $35 Amazon purchase for my Freddy. Just used Velcro to attach. Also added DIY stadium lights to mine because this game is stupid dark.
