Meet Frankenugent. It works, but it ain't pretty. The original cab had termites. I then moved 1000 miles and all of the parts came with me in boxes.
Last Summer, I discovered that the playfield was roached. It had majorly delaminated. I had a spare playfield, but it wasn't a whole lot better. I spent weeks gluing it, and clearcoating it, which looks very amateurish, but it got rid of all the sunken inserts.
The replacement cabinet was in rough shape, but beggars can't be choosers. Lots of bondo and sanding. I discovered after I painted it, that it's a former Lightning cabinet, which is taller than a standard Stern of that era. So, the stenciled paint looks awkward towards the back.
The backglass is toast, too. CPR has new playfields and plastics, but no glass, so it's not worth it to me, to sink anymore money into it, unless repo backglasses are made, which I doubt will ever happen. (I've considered BG Resto, but I don't think he does mirrored).
Honestly, I would have trashed this game long ago, but since they didn't make that many, I felt like I should try and keep it.
I finally got most of it working again tonight. It's a pretty fun game.
I do have a few leftover parts. Any idea where they go?
