We are having a Pinball Tournament in Durango, CO at the world famous Ska Brewing!
This 2-day tournament at Ska Brewing consists of 10 hours of unlimited qualifying on Saturday, May 5, on 12 machines. Registration will be on-site, and each participant must be registered before playing (1 entry is one play on one machine). Tournament entry fees are $5 for 2 entries, $10 for 5 entries, and $20 for 10 entries. ($1 per person will be removed from cash payout to cover IFPA sanctioning fee). Tournament is open to the public and kids are welcome. Participants residing 2 hours or more away from Durango who travel specifically for the tournament will receive 2 free entries. Anyone who brings a machine will receive 10 free entries, but please email [email protected] to make sure we still have room for pins. We will also need volunteers and will offer comped entries, but those details are not complete yet.
Participants should play all 12 games, but only their top 6 will count towards seeding. Each game will have its own point system, with the top score holder receiving 100 points, 2nd with 96 points, 3rd with 95, and one consecutive point down for 4th place and lower.
**Locals who want to play a few games for fun are more than welcome! Entries must be purchased as posted above. Children must be attended at all times in the tournament area (upstairs).
The finals portion on Sunday, May 6, will be PAPA style, groups of 4 players, 3 games per round. (4,2,1,0 or 4,2,1 for any three player groups).
The top 24 players will compete in "A" Division, with the top 8 receiving byes until quarterfinals.
Those who finish in positions 25-32 will qualify for "B" Division playoffs.
Qualifying Scores will be posted online, link TBA, through the amazing Drains Tournament Manager.

Nestled in the southwest corner of Colorado at 6,512 feet, Durango is home to 18,231 Durangatangs. Mesa Verde National Park is a short drive away, as well as the Four Corners Monument which marks the only point in the United States shared by four states: CO, NM, AZ, UT....aka the Four Corners Region. The Animas River runs through town (yes, the one that turned yellow from the mining spill) and was featured in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid jump scene. Hundreds of miles of biking and hiking trails are available for recreation, including the 486 mile long Colorado trail that takes you over high mountain passes to Denver.

Durango is 336.8 miles from Denver. That's a 6.5 hour drive or a 45 minute flight on United or American Airlines. Salt Lake City is about the same distance. Phoenix (cheap on American) is about 7 hours to drive. Moab, UT is only 2 hours away, and Albuquerque is a quick 3 hour drive. If you decide to fly, book quickly as commuter flights tend to fill up. The airport is about 20 minutes from Ska. Uber is available for rides to town. Do not expect any taxis....DRO is a tiny airport.
There are plenty of hotels and camping available that weekend, but they will fill up....book quickly! Here are a few for your consideration:

While you are visiting, please head downtown and enjoy the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad museum (free), or bring your family and let them ride the train to Silverton and back if they don't want to play pinball. http://www.durangotrain.com/
Downtown Durango offers a variety of restaurants, bars, 5 other breweries, a speakeasy (if you know the password), coffee shops, gift shops, and other retail. Silverton, Telluride, Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, and Sand Canyon are just a few places to visit with some spare time. We have a hot spring in town (https://www.trimblehotsprings.com/). On your next visit, drive the Million Dollar Highway north to Ouray for even more hot springs and gorgeous mountain views. Purgatory Ski Resort will be melted by then, but you could go for a hike or a bike ride right from Ska. Just ask us where to go!
