Well, after all of this... I just called the seller to set-up a time for tomorrow. And guess what? He has decided to hold onto the game for a while longer. Not ready to get rid of it.

That was a total 180. He told me he would reconnect with me in the summer.

What a let down. I was really excited about this.

Stay on him.

I feel like this one slipped right through my fingers. I can't believe it. Something tells me (if he really does sell this summer) the price will go up fairly dramatically.

ugh

Good luck! Stay in touch with him and develop good relationship. Offer to help him with some of his refurbs. You can gain some experience and develop good will. When selling time comes he may offer it to you for the same price.

The lesson with deals is that you often don't get the time to ponder them.

Yeah... this was literally a 24hr window. Crazy.

Most of the good deals I have either made or lost had less than an hour window. Keep that in mind next time.

Lesson learned for sure. My main stall was over the WAF. Turns out she was totally fine with it.

Oh well. Maybe I'll get lucky on the flip-side and still get a shot at it.

In the mean time, maybe I'll dig up another deal...

Good luck. The hunt is part of the fun.

Important lesson - sellers do change their minds. You have to strike while the iron is hot.

Here's the good news, I have a get out of jail free card in terms of WAF for the next time this comes up. My hope is I'll find another game to tweak-up for a few months... and then Funhouse will re-emerge and I can snatch it up. I guess the real question is: What to do if the seller says he wants more along the lines of $3K.

You try and negotiate to a price you are comfortable with. Either he accepts and you have a new machine or he does not and you walk away looking for the next one.

At $3000 your kind of creeping out of the 'deal' category and going into the 'fair price to the right buyer' zone. @3000 with those problems I'd be more of a stickler about condition. Patience could get you a fully functional player around 3000-3500

Yeah... that's the gut feeling I'm getting.

Well, time to file this one away and move on. Who knows, maybe I'll have some luck with it down the road.

Hope so. It is a great game and definitely one you would learn a lot on as you repair and revive it.
