I want a WOZ and would have bought this thing already since the seller is an hour from me, but I have to admit I'm scared to death of those early 5v light boards. Everyone seems to be of the opinion that they will fail sooner or later, and then it could get expensive and time consuming to get it straightened out. Apparently, they can't be fixed by normal repair guys like myself and you have to send them back and forth to JJP.
Alternatively, newer 25th Anniversary models are popping up in the 8k range which presumably won't have light board issues. Is it worth 1ooo to take a chance? Anyone with any understanding of the light board situation care to chime in and enlighten me? A thousand bucks is a thousand bucks, and I would greatly prefer not to have to spend it. But if I end up with weeks of problems sorting out future light problems, I will start to think that 1000 doesn't mean all that much in the overall scheme of things.
