I’m looking to trade (or sell) my 1980 Bally Xenon. I’d ideally like to trade for one of the following (in order of preference):
-Cosmic Gunfight
-No Good Gofers
-Pinbot
-Baby Pac-man
-Medusa
There’s also other stuff on my wishlist I might consider, but these are the big five I’m trying to lay hands on at the moment. Some of these are obviously going for more than I’ve listed Xenon for, so I’m happy to add some cash to the trade. I’ll also consider selling outright for the right price, but I prefer trading.
As far as Xenon goes, I’ll start with the bad and move to the good:
THE BAD: The playfield is a little rough; the previous owner did a pretty good job touching up the bare spots. I had been planning to put a hard top on it but I haven’t had the time. You can see the wear areas in the photos, it’s mostly limited to the lower center of the playfield which is pretty common on Xenon. The touch-up didn’t bother me as much as I expected it to, but I still consider this an excellent candidate for a hardtop.
THE GOOD:
-It plays exactly like it’s supposed to.
-The backglass (both of them) are immaculate. The infinity mirror effect is beautiful.
-The plastics are original. They aren’t quite perfect, but they’re good enough that I felt no need to replace them (and I’m pretty picky about that sort of thing).
-It comes with the reliable Alltek Ultimate MPU.
-Comes with Alltek lamp driver board to eliminate LED flickering.
-I rebuilt the flippers.
-I replaced all the rubber bands.
-I added Comet non-ghosting LEDs throughout. The only part I didn’t swap for LEDs was the running lights inside the backbox that create the infinity mirror effect; I felt like incandescents look better in that part.
-I recapped the sound board; it had some issues when I first bought the machine, but it’s working perfectly after being recapped.
-I added custom coin door inserts and apron cards from UpKick Pinball (these were actually designed at my request!) The original inserts and apron cards are also included if you prefer those.
-The cabinet is in great shape and isn’t faded.
-I replaced the long-gone coin door sticker with a new one (the period-correct Susan B. Anthony sticker).
Please feel free to reach out with any questions, and thanks for looking!
