Why would the prototype #001 be NIB?

#3 5 months ago

Great description, sounds completely legit, nothing to worry about... :/

#4 5 months ago

Does it have 2.0 boards?

#5 5 months ago

Wasn't ECLE from the second run of WOZ? How could that be a prototype?

#6 5 months ago

The prototypes all went to distributors and the software could not be upgraded

#7 5 months ago

Bring that Puppy to PAGG,sell it there all set up

#8 5 months ago
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

Why would the prototype #001 be NIB?

Exactly, isn’t that the point of a prototype?

#9 5 months ago

I call B.S. -sorry to be that way but it is what it is.

Pics or didn't happen, I mean doesn't exist.

#11 5 months ago

Why would you spend that on a old game with known bad boards? Gimme a ruby with 2.0 for less, thank you very much.

#12 5 months ago

too high for me
but so is giraffe pussy

Quoted from cooked71:

I mean.... maybe it was the prototype of fitting it into a giant cardboard box? Ya know, to see how it fit.

I was thinking the same thing.

So you’re saying if giraffes were shorter, you’d be all over it???

Ok I think I pissed myself on that. Lol

#17 5 months ago

y u got a worn out miget giraffe

This ad makes me question the integrity of the seller. When did JJP start numbering and selling NIB prototypes?

JJP Woz prototypes were unplayable. The early games travelled from show to show, always breaking down.

They were made with crappy LED boards, chipping playfields, and endless software problems.

Quoted from Yoko2una:

More likely under it

#20 5 months ago

As far as I knew, Silverball in Asbury park had year first either off the line, or prototype. I know for a fact they have a DILE prototype un-numbered

#21 5 months ago

Would you accept a trade for an immaculate Baywatch...

#22 5 months ago

Had to peak in this thread just to see what was up. I am not disappointed. LMAO

hey lookie there
and still no 001 pics

This is true - the code on the first games only was updatable to a certain point then NADA...

#28 5 months ago

I have high resolution pictures of a WOZ proto. Can’t wait to compare to this one for sale.

#29 5 months ago

So you bought it six months ago NIB, never opened it...?
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/wanted-looking-for-wizard-of-oz

Not likely.

You spelled imamaculate wrong.

Just out of curiosity do you know what made them unable to be upgraded further?

#32 5 months ago

Well, Ruby Red’s are $10,500 new in box these days believe it or not

Initial board set was pretty gimped it I remember right. The protos are basically boat anchors if you want to play anything 1.0 or later.

If i remember correctly, it had a different CPU.

My apologies! I meant imamaculate... stupid autocorrect.

#36 5 months ago

It’s still less than a TZ prototype...

#37 5 months ago

The prototype only has a (720p monitor) . Pass. Thank you very much.

It is?! I’m selling mine right now...

Interesting to look at OP’s other market ads. Has several NIB for sale. Also had wanted ads for same not long ago. Other games like CV listed too. It’s like day trading with pinball machines. Me no likey, but GLWS OP !

#41 5 months ago

I’ve played one of these prototypes in Australia, and it had very basic gameplay and was not much more than a box of lights. Pretty though.

I was told by the then owner (who offloaded it soon after) that it was run by some sort of DVD based system. Sounds unlikely but that’s what he said. Therefore it could never be upgraded

#42 5 months ago

I remember at PAGG years ago, there was a new WOZ and a new STLE on display to play!! Only got one ball to play on the WOZ and the flying Monkey feature broke down! Played the STLE and was hooked! I really wanted a WOZ but it was not reliable at all, kept breaking down a lot! AND when I finally got my $ together the STLEs were all sold out!!

I believe they meant updated.

What ever very early software is in them, that is it. You can't update the software to anything newer.

I don't know the reason. I just ran into it years ago in tech support. Some distributors opted to keep their prototype game, buy it or something rather than send it back. And as updates started rolling out. Unsuspecting people bought them and then discovered they couldn't update them.

LTG : )

Yeah I am not sure what's going on here as this seller listed a WoZ 5 days ago with little info. Looking for a WoZ I PM'd him and it was a standard version. Very odd how the seller list things. His games may be gems but the lack of pics and details does him more harm then good. With that said ....someone will buy it!

#45 5 months ago

At least it’s not a 75.000$ X 750.000

#46 5 months ago

i would totally trade my woz for "Jeffery" just tall enought to look over my wall

You might be mistaking pity for interest. And try a ture site if you want ture collectors. Just pinball people here, and we are having fun laughing at your nonsensical asking price.

It appears YeOldPinPlayer is old and cranky. He shouldn't lump everyone together though. I enjoy seeing the posts for unique and interesting games, even if I don't need to buy them.
