$11,500 is the price point for this new yellow version? :/

#3 5 years ago

Yeah I hear they are supposed to make only 30 of them. I guess if you are a big WOZ fan and have 100 dollar bills falling out of your pockets you might buy one of those. It seems that the prices on NIB games are just goin up and up and up and up. I guess if people are buyin em, then we will sit back and watch!

#4 5 years ago

If this is going to be the normal price point for JJP, i will never buy new again. I will buy used. This is so stupid!

#5 5 years ago

I’m new to Pinside but is this the norm to shit on someone’s ad? I’ve seen this a lot on here and I think it’s tasteless and ridiculous. There are multiple threads to post your disapproval of this machine.

First of all no one is shitting on anyone ad! This is a forum (if you haven't noticed) not the market place. We comment on the forum that what a forum is.... If you don't like the comments, don't post here. Forums are for debate. We will debate price, condition, normal, abnormal, smell, sound, scam, attitude, old, new, Dumb, Stupid and everything else under the sun.

#8 5 years ago

I'm sure the authorized distributors aren't happy that jjp set the price this high. They still need to try to sell them.

#9 5 years ago

I think this is way past pushing the envelope as far as price is concerned. If I were a distributor I would not post on a forum for obvious reasons. The NIB price keeps on getting pushed up and it is just a matter of time before a good portion of the potential buyers are priced out of the market.

#10 5 years ago

This has been said since the day I got in the hobby...(5 yrs)...This will still be said in 5 more years when jjp’s Are $15,000-$17,000....and Stern pros are $8,000....but but but the bubbles gunna burst....right Levi.....?!..............Joey

If I tried to sell something that was clearly an outrage, I would hope that you would do the same to me. By all accounts, Gary is a really nice and well-respected guy and of course he has no control over the price. Or does he? As a distributor, he could band with other distributors and push back or just downright refuse to sell it. I don't think that distributing pins is his main business anyway.

Only when the ad/price/situation is widely known as completely ridiculous, like this.
$8,000 game that's had major flaws since day one for $3,500 more? All because it's got really cool yellow ramps, and a topper.
OOoooooooo....wowww!

Think what you want newbie - but we usually know what we are talking about.
You'd be wise to pay attention to the good advice, and soon you can sort yourself between a real gripe and sour grapes.

Expanding on this:
It's JJP that's at fault here, not the distributor.
No harshness intended to the middle man - he's just doing his job.

Think I will wait for the Unicorn Edition. Heard there is only going to be 10 made.

I heard 200 were going to be made. But if I were them, I’d stick to 30... as that’s closer to the number I think they’ll sell at this price point. If that even. No monkey... witch in a tube. I was excited about the YBR edition until I saw the details and price. My guess is that the only people buying them will be uninformed buyers who don’t know how to search for a nice HUO used model for 3-4k less.

In the age of the internet, who is uninformed regarding a purchase of this size?

Even the guy with 10m in his checking account will exercise the most basic of research on an 11K purchase.

Why the need for hostilities and name calling? He is correct that an ad is not the appropriate place to vent. There are plenty of posts for that, have some class.

#17 5 years ago

So “newbie” is name calling now?

And as was already said... this is a forum thread, not an “ad”. When you place an “ad” in the marketplace, you can choose to create a corresponding forum thread or not. Sellers who choose to create the thread do so at their own risk, but some of them like the feedback, both positive and negative. When you’re in sales, silence can be just as bad if not worse than negative feedback. At least you can adjust and respond to negative feedback... not so much for silence.

This ain't name calling and this ain't venting. Stick around bud you will see the name calling and venting on here and you will know the difference!

When you post a ad you can decide if you want people to debate. If you decide to let people debate you get it all.

There are 200 being made and with JJP LE stands for latest edition. I am waiting for the tin man edition and me trade up from from the original LE. However that may sell for over $14k

Quoted from ejg10532626:

I disagree. JJP is striking while the iron is hot. The market has proven it will bear ridiculously overpriced games--and in particular 'limited edition' runs of games. If you want to point fingers, you may want to look at the hobbyists with seemingly endless amounts of disposable income that are more than happy to slap $10k+ on a game they've never played. Stern takes advantage with their LE and SLE games, but JJP is the bad guy here? I don't think there's any good or bad guys here. There's companies making games, and people buying them (or *not* buying them, which leaves plenty of time for them to complain about pricing in others fs threads )

How many is each distributor required to sell?
