The guy I orginally bought this from sold it for his brother who owned it "since the early 1970's" and it was said to be one of "his babies". It was kept in his basement bar area. He took really good care of it, which is obvious when you see it.
This game looks great, is very cool, and fun to play. The animated backglass works perfectly, where runners run the bases accurately depending on what you hit (single, double, triple or homerun) and what players were already on the bases. I understand that this is the first pinball game to use solid state sound. It's basically crowd noise, and sirens and cheers when you score. I also understand that this game is the first to deliver some randomization of how the pitches are thrown so it can't easily be mastered. The pitches vary from a fast ball to a curve ball (?) and the speed changes so there's randomness throughout the game.
Comes with the original manual and schematic still in the original envelope. Also extra score cards. The backglass is in excellent condition, with no flaking. Some of the red paint has faded, but it's still intact. I added a few warm white LED bulbs to the back box for the bulbs that are always on, but otherwise I beleive it's all original.
The cabinet is solid and in pretty good shape. Although "Joe J." did once score 33 home runs, so he (understandably) carved this achivement into the back box (as shown in the pictures).
