When I got this, it had been in a home environment for over 10 years, but not a pinhead's. So, it was bought as-is with issues and dirty.
Here's what I did to it (all of this done in December 2014):
- Tore down the entire top half of the playfield and cleaned, polished and double waxed the playfield. Added all new white rubber kit and new transparent red star posts.
- Cleaned all plastics and ramps individually with Novus 1 and 2.
- Rebuilt the left slot completely with new socketed LM339 on the control board and a new slot motor wired in. While there, cleaned all three reels extensively and put LEDs in the slot lights.
- Added new Tony's Palace sign as the original was broken
- All new balls
- Went through the boards and fixed any issues. Almost positive I added a remote battery pack to this one. Put in 3x AA lithium batteries which don't leak like the alkaline do.
- The game is completely LEDed -- all GI, all inserts, backbox and a custom red LED strips on each side tied into GI across the back panel.
- All switches adjusted and game play tested extensively to play as best as possible
Pretty sure that's about it, but you can see a lot of attention was given to this game.
As for cosmetics, the cabinet is damn near perfect. I can't really see any issue with it, no fade, chips, dings, etc. If any, very minor. The playfield overall is very nice. It's common on these games to get wear at the "item inserts" in the middle of the playfield. Almost impossible to find one that hasn't worn under those inserts. This game has had the little bit of wear touched up and mylar tastefully put over to preserve. If you look carefully, you can see, but whoever did the touch up on this one actually did a really good job I think as it's hardly noticeable unless you're looking for it. Everything plays 100%, ramps are in good shape (much better than you usually see with this title, which is huge, as there are no repros), no broken plastics that I remember coming across. The phone and roulette table toys are in good shape. Translite has a couple small spots on it, but no major damage.
All in all, a real damn nice example of this game. And, plug and play -- this game won't need attention for some time as all this work was done just 3 months ago. It's maybe had 100 plays on it since then.
Anyway, price wise, I'd like to see $2700 out of it. Happy to answer any questions.
