For Sale: White Water

Added: March 13th, 2017 Re-listed: 2 times (June 16th, 2017) Ended: June 27th, 2017
Condition: Fully restored (full original status)

Item description

Just to be clear this is not a top tier restoration. It's not going to have tumbled screws and any other meticulous steps so if you are looking for that this is not for you. Otherwise I believe it's nicer than any WH20 that has been listed here recently. I'm not looking to ship this yet, trying to sell locally first. NO PAYPAL.

I purchased this almost 4 years ago and barely played it. It's the only title that I've owned twice and this is easily the nicest condition machine I've ever owned. Simply not playing pinball at the moment or recently. It sat for over a year (which has been normal in the 11 years I've been in the hobby). Main reason for selling is the money could be put towards more important things in my life.

I'll start with the bad

cabinet separating in the front corners
original translite - seems stained on the back with some scuffing (see picture)
artwork wrinkling around 3 legs and bottom edge of coin door
no silkscreen on backbox - if that's considered a negative
original topper - I've seen nicer, has bubbling (see picture)
topper dome is not cracked although it may appear that way in pictures
raised bump in clearcoat by spine chiller entrance (no screw hole on bottom of playfield near that area). I've never seen the ball effected by this as I just noticed this by closely inspecting the play field for the purpose of listing it's condition on here.
mini playfield has 3 screw holes that aren't being used (I suppose they didn't line up and new holes had to be made. Not in eyesight or ball lane.
artwork damage around plunger
boulder garden sign cracked

The following have been replaced during the restore
both play fields - I can only assume Mirco, no clue how many coats.
artwork
plastics
ramps
mountains
chromed hinges, lockdown bar, side rails, metal below topper
lockdown bar receiver

following added
pin cab protectors
missing mountain
pinball pro speaker kit
Cliffy ramp and VUK protectors
Mantis ramp protectors
led strip under rear mountain

I'm not positive, but there may be a replaced board in the backbox. I never seen a piggyback setup like that before. Pinheads will know I'm sure.

since ownership I added cointaker super bright leds with blue flashers, blue flasher domes, blue bulb condoms in the whirl pool, red and blue condoms on the whirlpool sign
Pinballife wide blue leds behind the river targets
I have 2 new Cliffy switch slot protectors I'll include

Any questions please let me know.

guys - I recently saw this pin. Holy ___ is all I have to say. WW is a great game but not my top 10 yet I was drawn to it as it's no doubt the nicest WW I've ever seen, prob top 5 looking pins I've seen period. It's like stern built a WW boxed it and sent it to him to play. If you want a very nice WW, this is it. Brian is also a pleasure to deal with. GLWS

I have been looking for a whitewater for a while now and the prices have really flown off of the rails. While I'm sure it's a nice WH2O, I guess I don't understand the $7k asking price given the fairly solid list of issues...some of which would require replacement of parts that aren't easy to find or cheap (i.e. the topper). You'd think that for $7k, this machine would be turnkey/perfect and would definitely include a colorDMD. The most expensive WH20 I've seen here sold for that much and it was a complete restoration with all the mods including the colorDMD...it was perfect and was $7000.

Is your price firm?

#6 3 years ago

Good luck finding a WH2O for $4500 that has a new playfield, new cabinet decals, new ramps, plastics, chrome etc. The seller was just nice enough to list every possible thing a buyer might find as a negative. You can say it's not worth $7000, but to say its worth $4500 is pretty silly. Somewhat clean non restored examples go for that, not mid level restorations.

I turned down $9k for my MikeD as good as it gets restore WH20

Mike called it "red water" for a reason

It costs a lot to restore that pin!

Yikes. I'm totally clueless about current market price on some pins. I always thought a WH20 was a 3k machine.

Nice looking pin. GLWS.

Lol, I would love to find working WH20's in the $3000 range! Those were the days!

Been a while. I'm sure Neo has found several nice examples below $1k this year, but for us pinball bargain mortals, $4k is more the ballpark for a players' condition machine.

Yeah, I know...I'm a dope. Gotta brush up on current prices.

#15 3 years ago

If it has been listed for 82 days then its obviously not the right price. The market has spoke. It does look nice though.

I bought my 'players plus' WH20 a couple years ago in the high 3's. My first pin and it will never leave!

Listed at $7k, so I had to take a look! First issue is a split cabinet, move on to next post. $7K for a WH2O better have ABSOLUTELY no issues, everything tumbled, polished, etc.

Some nicer ones sold for $8500.00. So I'm not sure what price is right, but I'm watching as I have one I may selll someday.

Who goes white water rafting through snow capped mountains? Dumb.

Makes more sense than the arctic/yeti version.

True!

Mine came with the white boulder set but a normal Bigfoot. I agree it doesn't make as much sense with the theme but it sure makes the game a lot brighter.

Spring rafting in Colorado. Snow capped mountains until July, if not longer.
