for sale

For sale: Whirlwind

Added: September 13th, 2020
Condition: Used - shows wear but 100% working and clean

Item description

Players condition. Everything is playing 100%, but could use a deep cleaning and new rubbers. I rebuilt all three flippers. I was going to completely shop this, but I am at N+1, N being the number of pins I have space for. Pf has the original mylar which kept the pf looking pretty good. Ramp is cracked as are two plastics (I have one replacement). Cab is solid, but has bumps and bruises. The PF glass has lots of scratches (even has some scratched numbers?). No topper (missing both the cloud dome and motor), but the board and wiring are present inside the Backbox.

No topper? Or no topper and fan assembly?

Whoops, no cloud dome or motor. Sorry for the confusion.

Ah yeah that needs to be stated.

solid price. I have one and thought about pulling the trigger. I just had to buy the topper dome, motor, fan, and bracket and build a wiring harness for about $250. All parts are readily available.

If it doesn't sell, I plan on wrapping it up and stashing it in my garage for a shop job when the space frees up. If that ever happens, I will strongly consider going with a new topper.

I wouldn't worry about it selling. It'll clean up nicely, someone will definitely jump on it. Nice price.

Still here! Did the bubble burst, or is everyone just waiting for Avengers?

Your average Pinsider wants plug and play these days, and Whirlwind without the topper is a tough sell. I've been amazed the last 5 years or so the very minor "need to fixes" that scare off potential buyers. Like tiny stuff.

I'd lower the price (think $2000) or fix the topper and try for $3000.

Thanks for the input! I've never really sold a game that wasn't 4.0, so I didn't really know what to expect. I'll give it another day or two and then take up your advice.

Nice! A year ago or a year from now, with open borders, I'd drive down for a weekend getaway and pick this up. GLWS!

If this game wasn't so ungodly loud, I would be all over this one. Been trying to curate my recent purchases to be as silent as possible, and those spinning discs really are a noisemaker.

Good luck with the sale. I've never played Whirlwind, but looks like a blast.

I wanna say you're a tad low here levi.

If all the parts are available, it's not much an issue.

$2600 plus the parts to do the topper puts you at $3000, which was your price point w topper. So i'd say asking of $2600 is good.

surprised this has not sold. 6 months ago this would have been gone in 2 hours.
