If someone is hoarding a Houdini in their basement…refusing to touch him, to play with him, to nudge him with your body…then trade me. Why perpetuate that loneliness? Do you not hear him crying out for one more moment on the stage, pleading to hear the applause and gasp of one more enraptured member of the audience? Here I stand, outside the curtain, nickel in hand, ready to see the great Houdini…

Speak to me of Oktoberfest...Tell me if you have only one American Pinball game to own, which would it be? The game with a near impossible ramp shot and strange bumper cars (only played once) or the tightest shots in modern pinball...I'm leaning Houdini but have probably never played a dialed in copy of either machine.

I wouldn’t mind both for 6 months if I could swing it. Both of these games call to me even though others have tried to scare me off.

Houdini anyone? Open to other trades or cash sale.

Played Oktoberfest tonight at Recbar and really enjoyed it. I feel like I’ve never played a good shooting copy of Houdini or I’m possibly just too optimistic with that title as every time I’ve found one on location they don’t shoot well. Oktoberfest on the other hand was a blast.

It is a really good game. The way my house is set up I can only fit 5 games upstairs in my office. I try to keep my “nice” or newer games upstairs so as not to risk the cabinet moving it down into the basement. Older Ballys are fine bumping down the stairs into the basement. This forces me to change out this part of my collection when I get a NIB game. If I had room I really would keep it but right now I have a game in the middle of my Dining room. It’s beautiful game and should be worth much more than its selling for.

Bump. Help me make some space here.

Great timing indeed!!!

I didn’t even have to look up while updating my Ultraman…seriously…stared down by the flippers like a crazy person and protected those sensitive neck muscles. Why would you waste that valuable muscle movement on a lesser Ultraman CE that lacks the lower screen…

I really enjoyed Oktoberfest when I last played it on location but that upper ramp was impossible on the game I played. I’d like to find a nice dialed in copy to get a true opinion. If I made a judgment call on a game by only playing it on location I wouldn’t own most of the games I do own. Sometimes I just have a suspicion that something more is waiting for me if I can get it home. I think this is one of those times.

And to be more specific I’m referring to the ramp that’s only accessible from the upper right flipper. The game I played had no power in that third flipper.

Code drop was pretty damn impressive on this last one to be honest. If you get a chance to play one in the field check it out. It’s definitely worth a revisit. I for one think this game should be pulling much more than what they are listing for and have no intention of driving the market down any further on this game.
