Item description

1950 Bally Turf king. Excellent cosmetic example near perfect backglass and playfield. Cabinet is extremely clean but has been kicked since 1950 and some artwork on front lower is damaged but still there. Cabinet is a beast structurally.

Game had wire bundle cut to head at some point. I rescued this from destruction and am going to give pinside a day or two to take this free and then think about a local add.

The goal here is to find someone who will appreciate this and fix the wiring so it can live again- it deserves to and is trully in good shape otherwise. The game is 100 % as is.

I cleaned this game in terms of cabinet and playfield very meticulously with Magic Eraser and Isopropyl- its absolutely a stellar example but for the wire bundle issue. It was my intention to rescue it myself but the simple fact is I had moved it into my game room for a few months just to see if it would be something I wanted to look at long term. The answer for me is no- so its gotta go.

Take this so I dont have to remove playfield and glass as art pieces. Its free to a good home. If your just going to turn it into pieces to hang I will keep it and enjoy them myself. I really want it whole again but not in the cards for me to do it. I have too many games and another coming to take the place of this.

Nice gesture -hope somebody takes you up on this

Would be great to find a home for this. If your local this is a piece of UT history.

Saturday- SAVE the game Bump!

Wonder if you’d have more eyes if you changed the thread title to “Free” instead of “FS”? Good luck. Can’t be too many of these left around.

Good luck rufessor, I know there's someone out there for this game. Such a beautiful and fun game - mine will never leave!

I wish I could love it more amongst a “modern” line up of EM and very early SS games. But I could not see it- I have room for only 4-5 games in my gameroom. So given I have excess already and I like them all far more- this did not work.

I tried to post as free but under for sale posts the system now requires a price. It even had a minimum so i had to use it. Maybe I should just re post to pinball with title “free”

That should be ok in this instance- although I think its frowned upon.

Mods- if you wander through let me know or move this please. I may just try it.

Bump!!
If someone wanted to transport this to NY I’d gladly add it to my list of “rare-games that need an insane amount of work but are too rare to part out” I’ve only got 3 of them going currently.

I’ll ask around. In the meantime I hope someone closer can save it!

I know but the 2 Saratoga pinball machines I know of are exceedingly rare.

I would love to get either of them to display at the local museum

Why not place it in the bargains and giveaways section of the marketplace...

It has been saved! Remarkably, someone from St. George UT picked it up this am with a plan to bring it back to life. The remarkable part is a year ago this game was in St George and on its way to the dump. It was saved and a very kind soul brought it up to SLC where I have held it deciding what to do.

So happy it found the right homw. Its new owners are big fans of horse racing and have been to the Kentucky derby and were very excited to pick it up. Hisband and wife both felt game was beautiful and will be restoring it to function!!

Yeah

They were not Pinsiders but I think they may join and start a thread to get help restoring wire bundle. Look for that and please help out if you can (if it happens).

Anyhoe- final closure and a good resolution.
