Even at that income level, it’s tough to pull the trigger at that price. Perceived value is still really important and if you thought you could get one at $12-$14k you’re probably holding out.

Quoted from woody76:

I agree to some point. If you have true FU money then a $25k Tron LE is nothing. If I made $2 million a year and did not want to wait I would probably pay $25k for a Tron. The problem is the person who will pay $25K for a tron le is few and far between. I would bet to say that NO ONE ELSE will ever pay that much for a Tron LE. This one will sit forever until he lowers his price. I have some friends who make insane money and they would not pay $25K for this.

The game is worth $25,000 because Kaneda said someone sold one of these games for 25k. Yeah Kaneda is the same person who put a Big Lebowski up on ebay for 50k just to get a rise out of people. Please. That is a reason for the price. C'mon.

Condition because your shooter lane is pristine its worth 25k? So hey everyone go buy a brand new PRO anything from Stern put it up for sale for 25k and tell people because the shooter lane is pristine. This one is just funny as hell.

He also claims 'Rarity' look at your plaque it says 1 of 400... how is that rare? Four Hundred is a BIG NUMBER its not that rare. Hey everyone they only made 300 Oktoberfest they are now worth $50,000 because they only made HALF as many Trons. Line them up!

Another point is 'heavily modded' what are you talking about almost every pinball game is heavily modded... someone anyone go out and buy every single mod for Baywatch, boom its worth 25k just like that.

For all these reasons yeah I can buy into the 25k price tag. I'm on board now.

Quoted from snaroff:

Sales price based on the following:

- Best LE ever made by Stern,
- Condition (look at this pristine shooter lane
- Rarity,
- Heavily Modded,
- Kaneda said Justin sold one for $25,000

Game is in Jupiter, Florida. Prefer local sale, but will ship at buyers expense.

This is a SERIOUS question... if someone pays you TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for this game why wouldn't you at least throw in FREE shipping?

Its a serious question.

Don't you think for TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS you can throw in $400 of shipping? I mean I understand about your pristine shooter lane, you don't need the money, and all the mods but c'mon can't you throw in the shipping?

Reading must be hard for you.. so Im helping you out with your mistakes in multiple posts of yours:

1. Ebay listing, paid according to the actual ebay seller who posted on here. ebay.com link: itm
Not Kaneda's, he only mentioned it
2. 1/400. so 100 less not MORE than GNR CE

All this seller needs is one of those dumb luck bitcoin millionaires.

#210 1 year ago

How dumb would you feel buying this for 25k and it ends up being the next vault? But how awesome would you feel getting 25k for a so-so game as the op? So you can't blame him.

People just really don't understand the concept of "LIMITED EDITION".

A Limited Edition will not be remade as a vault.

In any case, a friend of mine sold his restored MM for over $20k a few months before the remake was announced. Things happen.

Besides entertaining, this thread is educational. Not only I learn about the current market for pins, but also the market for housing, boat, stock, crypto, fuel, commodities, plywood, and boba drink recipe.

I haven't done a deal with the seller, but did have the chance to chat over the phone/text a few times about another pin. He's been around for a long time, a true enthusiast for the hobby and community. 1 of most upfront and honest gentlemen you'll ever meet.

We all know that this will be Stern's next VAULT edition when they get caught up. It's been rumored for at least 5 years so you know it's true!

I wasn't as lucky with my HEP AFM. I had ~13k in it and sold it for 10k after the remake was announced. Biggest loss I've ever taken on a game, IIRC. Fortunately, sold my TOTAN for a 3k profit to make up for it. You win some, you lose some! Definitely not getting rich selling pinball machines, despite what the peanut gallery thinks

First off - get your facts straight - there are 400 Tron LEs, not 600.

On a different thread last week, you were arguing that EHOH LE is a $15k game because there was a market outlier that sold for that much. Even though there’s only been *1* sell for that price. Yet you come here and make the argument that we should ignore the TronLE that sold for $25k? That’s kind of hypocritical.

How about you sell me your GnR CE for $12.5k? It was a $12.5k game 6 months ago, so.....[insert whatever argument you like here]...it’s only worth $12.5k!

#219 1 year ago

People seem to love it. What is so amazing about the game besides the limited edition and looks of it. I have never had the opportunity to play Tron. The newer sterns like EHOH and Avengers LE play really smooth and nice. I guess once it gets vaulted (or if), what is going to make people buy enough that it is worth it?

#220 1 year ago

I’d be in on a 50% off sale!

It’s all relative/perception. If the top games are selling for $10k-30k, then a used game for $4-8k is “cheap” in comparison.

Most people, even when doing well, aren’t buying pins and never were.

Since 2016, the hobby has attracted a customer that is at another level. They’ve done extremely well and continue to do so. These pins at these prices are pocket change. Stern wouldn’t be doing so well otherwise. Those who can buy pins, and want to, are.

#230 1 year ago

This game is not worth 25. It’s not even worth 15k.
Is it a fun game. Yes.

I don’t get it. I can’t believe some gigantic sucker hasn’t bought this game yet for 25k.
I thought there was all these “noobs” that have all this “f—- off money”. (i love this bs line.) one of them should have bought it by now. Lol.
I’ve yet to meet someone that has made a lot of money in their career and just recklessly spends their money

I’m convinced the seller is a very nice person but this is,respectfully, a cash grab imho.
A lot of Tron owners hoping they’re game is worth 25k right now but deep down inside they know it’s not.

#231 1 year ago

wow, i looked at this this ad this morning, and no posts (was surprised). now look at this (not surprised at 5 pages in 12 hours).

listen, steve's a good dude. make an offer, or move on. his price is not in stone. at the very least, enjoy what this guy brings to pinball, and painside, in general.

the demand outweighs the availability in today's world. i'm the first guy to say: "this market sucks...where's my $1200 BSDs that sat just 5 years ago?"

you DO know me.

Shit like this doenst sell on Pinside...this thread is just for fun. We’re hobbyists that want a “deal”. He puts it on eBay? It’ll sell. That’s where the last one sold.

Quoted from kklank:

But this is, respectfully, a cash grab imho.

True, this may be a cash grab. But anyone not trying to take advantage of a situation when it presents itself will just watch investment opportunities (or anything else in life for that matter) pass them by. Then years down the road they'll say to themselves, "Damn, I wish that I would have done this/that. Or taken advantage of something when I had the chance."

Truthfully, I don't know why people are getting so bent out of shape over this listing. If you read the actual ad, it's pretty much tongue in cheek. It's a friggin' goof on how many other high priced titles there are out there and the insane prices people are willing to pay for them.

TBH are any of these machines worth as much as people are paying. Probably not. And the reason why is they pretty much start breaking the second you start playing them. If you aren't enjoying them for what they were made for though, then what are you really doing? You're investing in them in the off chance that they'll go up in value...

This keeps getting said. I get it, the exact same game won’t be vault, the ‘old’ LEs will always be unique. But there’s nothing stopping stern from doing a vault that incorporates nearly all features of the LE, upgrading a few things, maybe even an LCD, node boards, etc. That still potentially devalues an LE. Still rare, but there’s options then that are closer to what a premium would have been. Or they do the LE version exactly but on the newer system , still with a few upgrades? It’s still different than an OG LE, and called a vault. But very similar. I don’t think there’s any reason Stern couldn’t do this. Not saying they will, just saying it’s not impossible.

Sad you can't distinguish a good game from a great game from a shitty game. All games aren't the same. Let me guess...you are one of those guys that orders pizza from Domino's even though there is an awesome Italian Ma/Pa Pizzeria right outside your door...!

Second that! Two bounce around between pinders locally like a ping pong ball. Between $5200-5900. Longest anyone has it is 6 months.

Listen, I love my getaway, but if getaway's were suddenly selling for 10k plus I'd have it listed in a second just to see if I could get it too (yes I understand getaways are pretty easy to find, just go with my hypothetical). Hell, with the way prices are right now I've considered listing it just because I know I could get so much more out of it than I have in it. I don't really blame anyone putting their desirable game out at these crazy prices. I don't like it. I don't like the direction this hobby seems to be headed....but I at least understand it. It'll be interesting to see if another one sells at a crazy price.

Anyone have an opinion on what a HUO, well modded (lighted ramps, all the must have mods) Tron Pro goes for these days? 7k? 7.5-8k?

I'm not buying the argument Tron LE's are now worth 20k + because some outlier paid someone 24k for one. The market is nuts right now but that is just ridiculous.

Here’s the breakdown. Tron LE’s been out for a decade. People who have it generally don’t move it - they love it, keep it, play it. So - you can say 20k’s not “the real price” ...but why would someone who loves their Tron list it for less, or at all? $20k starts to be that “pry it away” price. If someone really wants one, and none are for sale - it is what it is. Only way the price goes down again is if like 10 people simultaneously list Tron LE’s for high prices...then there’s more supply & competition, buyer has the advantage.
