Quoted from Pickle:

There are 5 TS4 CE’s for sale in the Pinside marketplace…..unless the gameplay is amazing there will be plenty of these to go around.

I think JJP has finally found the price threshold….GnRCE were being flipped for 15-25K while people were caught up in the hype. I think if sales are poor you will see these available for less than MSRP or the run will be short and hopefully they have the next title ready to go.

JJP haven’t found the price ceiling for hits, what they have found is the price ceiling for games that don’t meet expectations.

TS4 hurt it definitely but I think the features or lack of is what really hurt it, especially following on from GnR which had incredible attention to detail and theme integration.

Don’t forget, probably more recognizable for her role as Jeanine in the original Ghostbusters movies.

Her best role:

GNR CE package was far better than the TS4 CE.... its short term gain, long term pain for JJP....what I think will lose more value is the LE's...my guess 12 months from now u can pick one up for less than $10K

Agree the GnR CE package was better but it was also at $12.5K and sold out day one. TS4 CE is $15K and you can still get one. Flippers are listing them as fast as they can while the hype is there as they may lose money on this one.

I hear ya...as an owner of other JJP CE's it was an easy pass for me....no doubt it will be fun, but I highly doubt it retains value. I think many people buy these games site unseen assuming they will go up or at a minimum retain value that way that can flip if they don't like it. Now that the new JJP has taken all that profit out things are about to change.

Quoted from iceman44:

That’s true as well and I agree, but it’s the LE that’s really not going to sell the way they expect at these prices

You can already see that. There is a dealer on pinside trying to sell one he has in stock at his warehouse right now. I thought about it but I passed with it being 12.5k with shipping.

When was the last time you could get a pin right away when it was revealed?

Quoted from ForceFlow:

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy at inflated prices.

Blah blah blah. Where is "the pin is worth what the market will bear" too?

I quoted Pinside's "About Us" page, and it's a lie. To make it true, Pinside would have 2 choices.

1) Get rid of the flippers (preferred).
2) Change the About Us description to accurately state what this site is - "Some pinball talk interrupted with eBay-like scalpers and the occasional scam too".

This is a weird take. There is a lot Pinside has to offer. Sounds like you might be a bit too focused on the buying and selling portion of the site.

Yeah I dont think its up to the mods to price police for sale ads. Thats a real slippery slope there. If you see an ad where the games priced too high, just make fun of it and move along.

I think this shows the JJP has hit the ceiling. I'm just curious if they suck it up and lower the price or try and stick it out.

It’s an observation, and one that I know is shared amongst many here. I mean look at the downvotes on the original post in this thread. Is there not an issue with scalpers here? Are there many simple solutions?

Pinside calling itself a community of pinball enthusiasts is as much marketing BS as Stern calling themselves a lifestyle brand. Say one thing. Do another for $$$.

The simplest solution is not to buy from scalpers, drain these threads and move on.

I see lots of enthusiasts. There is more to pinball buying and selling games.

Important to remember that this nutty side market has nothing to do with JJP.

JJP gets prepaid and the games are gone, they are out of the equation and made their money.

I'll consider the market for this game or any other as slowed down when dealers/distros still have games in hand and no one is buying.

I despise that give me a deposit biz model they all use now... when that is gone and its back to normal then you have your dead market.
