I think this game’s reputation suffered more than it should have, at least in part due to external factors which were no fault of its own. If one can look past the drama, this really is a decent, fun, attractive game.

At this price, it’s likely one of the best deals on the marketplace given its age and probable condition. Not a bad way at all to jump into the hobby if the theme works and a recent game is desired.

Selling for someone else. He is firm at the price, but yes it is a really good price for this game. I had never played until he brought it to me. I think it has a worse reputation that it deserves. I have definitely played a lot worse games, it's got some interesting shots.

What drama? What happened? I thought it was just because of the crappy theme and awful sounds.

There was a bunch of drama - the owner of homepin made some public homophobic / bigoted comments and then doubled down on it and got all defensive when he got called out as memory serves. It’s buried in threads elsewhere around pinside for sure.

I’ve never played the game. But I’ve followed the drama. I think this would be a great game for a large collection or someone on a limited budget wanting to get stared in pinball.

There's also a highly relevant backstory relating to Homepin's previous business ventures as well which hasn't ever been made public on pinside and which is also why 99% of the pinball community down here kept our wallets closed when it came time to preorder. 17 preorders from a primary target market of literally thousands of Australian pinball collectors speaks for itself.

Most of us had spread the word down here to not put money down with the guy as far back as July 2013. That's why he stuck around on pinside as there were no more buyers locally as he needed new international orders in 2018 to get the original domestic preorders from 2013 built.

In the last spooky pinball podcast they were talking about musicals that could be made into pinball and one of the three (Charlie, Bur or Bunyip) had that on their top five. So there are like minded people out there!

People keep ragging on this game. What makes it so bad? I only want to read about gameplay. Leave the politics of the company/owner out of it.

I tried looking up reviews on YouTube but there really aren't any. There are a few of people just playing it but that doesn't explain why it sucks so much. Only thing I can see is it looks like a weak middle ramp shot is guaranteed to send the ball sdtm.

I know you are selling it for a friend so not sure how much legwork you want to do...but you could hop on to the owner's map, scroll down and find a short list of pinsiders that have Thunderbirds on their wishlist. Maybe you can find a match? One guy Cabal73 left a very good review of the game 11 months ago.
