Price is firm

I have The Sopranos that I am looking to trade. Game has been routed but has cleaned up nicely. I have $3700 into it and am looking to trade it for other machines of similar value, specifically Stern machines from the last 15 years. I may be open to other potential DMD games. Not in a position to pay up at the moment so I am looking for even trades or + cash deals on your side.

I am located in Fairfax, VA (zip 22033) and am unable to transport this machine. I can help you get it down my stairs and have all the tools to handle that (appliance dolly, straps, shrinkwrap).

The pros:
- Clean playfield, clean boards and connectors in the backbox
- Brand new reproduction replacement plastics installed (leftovers included) + Pinbits plastic protectors installed
- Brand new legs, bolts, levelers and full side rails
- Mirror blades
- Pinbits red DMD cover
- Full LEDs for GI and inserts (warm, two-LED clear domed for GI)
- Brand new flipper parts installed (bats, plunger links, springs, coil sleeves, coil stops and flipper bushings)
- LED OCD and GIzmo lamp smoothing boards (a necessity if you are doing LEDs)
- Decal kits applied (Sopranos targets, Butcher shop targets, new safe decal, new drop target decal)
- Shooter lane metal protector installed
- Remote battery holder installed
- New Stugots boat and decals
- New Safe switches and safe has been realigned. Functions great now.

The cons:
- One of the dancers snapped and was glued back together incorrectly--see photos.
- Right backbox side art wear on the Sopranos logo
- Small gauge underneath the safe area. Visible only when the safe is open. It looks like when the safe was worked on in the past it was misaligned and was digging into the playfield. This has since been corrected and the safe is no longer touching the playfield.

If you are in the area just hit me up and swing by to check it out in person.

Potential trades at the top of my list: Pro versions of The Rolling Stones, Transformers, Avengers, X-Men, WWE, Big Buck Hunter, Avatar, 24, Elvis, Stern NBA. Also up for machine + cash deals on cheaper Sterns, like Terminator 3, Nascar, World Poker Tour, etc. Also specifically interested in a Batman Forever by SEGA, or a Congo by Williams.

Photos added.

Also, here's a video of the machine in action (before I added the mirror blades and the red DMD cover).

Nice looking game.

Too-soon-ish bump.

Decided I'll be willing to take cash on it as well. Trades make life easier (I bring the game out and another one in same-day), but I'll part with it for what I paid after some of the upgrades, $3800.

FYI, I have no way to transport this except for down my stairs and into your vehicle. I have all the tools to handle that (appliance dolly, straps, shrinkwrap), but have no way to transport it farther than that.

#6 6 years ago

Added some of those Pinbits protectors at the high risk/wear areas today--both bottom slings, fish eject, right outlane guide, and the safe flasher.

Dropped the price to $3700--found a little more wear than I remembered (namely, under the safe). Might be willing to go $150 lower if I take out the LED OCD and GIzmo boards, I can install them in my next Stern.

Several people have reached out, but no one has responded after getting back to them. Is this the new hot trend in pinball?

Going to be looking for those Safe switches in a few, possibly a new boat and decals as well (it's only cracked at where it mounts).

*edit: Safe switches, replacement boat and decals ordered.

#8 6 years ago

Still available!

#9 6 years ago

Every time I go to a show this game gets some of the most play. Most popular game at parties too. Can't believe this isn't going for $5k. GLWS.

#10 6 years ago

See ya tomorrow bump

#11 6 years ago

Removed the LED OCD and GIzmo boards--can install them in the next Whitestar or SAM based game I get. Dropped price to $3,500 as a result.

1 week later
#12 6 years ago

Safe is fully functional now. Replaced the switches with new ones and realigned the entire mech. It's working great now.

Decided I'm going to move the game back to trade-only, as it plays totally different with a functional Safe and I'd like to spend time enjoying it before I part with it. If you have any Sterns you are looking to do an even trade with, shoot me a PM. Also open to other DMD games, but Sterns are at the top of my list (see the original post for specifics).

*Edit: Meant to mention that I added the LED OCD and GIzmo LED smoothing boards back in. Figured if I was going to be enjoying it for a bit, might as well include them.

#13 6 years ago

Game is still available. Will be snapping some new/updated photos in the next week or so, as well as inner cabinet and board photos.

Has anyone made an alt translite for Sopranos? That's one of the few things that holds me back from considering to buy or trade for this game. I didn't watch the show, so I don't care about the theme one way or another. But that translite of a bunch of actors just sitting around is awful and I wouldn't want to see their faces every time I walk downstairs in our bar. Not sure what alt artwork would work though?

#15 6 years ago

burningman has a great alt translite in his Sopranos. No idea where he got it but it's bitchin'.

Great guy with great machines. GLWS! Sopranos is awesome!

#18 6 years ago

Those other translites are a little better, but still so many sour pusses on each one.

#19 6 years ago

Ahhh, yesss. He has the 1st one.

#20 6 years ago

If you have never watched the show and aren't a fan of those characters then I could see how the translite might not appeal to you. But If they were all sitting around with shit eating grins it just wouldn't look right. I loved the show. It helped start all of the incredible original programming on HBO etc. and it's still better than most of the shows that came after it.

I watched it as it aired in my 20s and 30s And at some point this fall/winter I think I'm going to go back and watch it again. I think I will appreciate it even more now. And playing a Sopranos pin in a bar is what began my interest in this hobby. Eventually I will have one in my home.

Great show!! Just got done with my 3rd time through!!

#23 6 years ago

Thanks for the bumps guys. Contemplating taking down the listing though. With the Safe fully functional now, the game is a lot more fun to play. Might hold onto it for a while longer.

#24 6 years ago

Great game.. great show. Games fun even if you haven't seen the show though.. even better if you have

#25 6 years ago

Not sure why Sopranos arent going for a lot more tbh. It's a great game and easily the most fun party game ever made.

2nd this. Loved the show also and if they were all smiling it wouldn't reflect the vibe correctly.

#27 6 years ago

I just watched the video. I've heard of LED OCD. I'm not very familiar with the Gizmo board. But man they sure make the lighting look smooth!

Yeah they really do. I toss them in every Stern I get these days. Hard to live without them.

#29 6 years ago

Going live with the game right now for the next three hours. I'll post the archive later tonight for those that want to see an updated video of it with everything on it (and functioning). Link: http://www.twitch.tv/buffalopinball/

Edit: Here's a highlight game from the stream (full wizard mode completion): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/167604088
